Yeah, I must agree that the syndicated "ALF" is much tighter and cleaner and better edited. I especially like when Willie comes in and tells ALF "You were singing again" and we're all like "What? No he wasn't" because Lions Gate didn't want to clear a Beach Boys song. So now it is better because...
These reviews should answer your questions and any more that may arise: http://www.ultimatedisney.com/timelesstales-v1.html http://www.ultimatedisney.com/timelesstales-v2.html The short answer is if you already have all the Walt Disney Treasures, then you have this content. Volume 3 in...
Hi. I'm a big fan of The Muppet Christmas Carol and I think "When Love is Gone" slows down the film considerably. It's not a terrible song by any means, and it should be included as an option (which it will be, albeit in pan & scan), but it does mess with the pacing of an otherwise tight and...
So basically if you have both films already, and you should, then it's $19.99 SRP for two episodes of the show. Not so great. I'd gladly pay that for a Special Edition of "Ghostbusters II" and much more for collections of "Real Ghostbusters" episodes, but it doesn't sound like this is either. Oh...
It's 1.33:1, I'm afraid. "Summer Magic" is the only one of the May 3 bunch that's been treated to a 16x9 transfer. I should have a "Castaways" review up by tomorrow.
I've reviewed all four of the new Disney DVDs at UltimateDisney.com. The Adventures of Bullwhip Griffin is the only one correctly presented in its theatrical aspect ratio; it is 1.66:1 anamorphic widescreen on DVD. The other three appear to be mostly open-matte, with probably some cropping from...
Actually the 1997 remake IS non-anamorphic widescreen, despite packaging that claimed Fullscreen. Of course, I'd rather have the Hayley Mills version done right, but there's no really need for reformatting to fill 4x3 screens at this point.
Supposedly, there are more Luxo shorts on these DVDs: Odyssey: The Mind's Eye Presents Computer Animation Showcase http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg.../-/0738920215/ Odyssey: The Mind's Eye Presents Computer Animation Marvels http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...l/-/B00001O2FK
Not sure what that would include, but it'd be nice to have a collection of their short films even if individually they're available on the different DVDs.
The good news for fans is that Disney will be releasing "The Golden Girls" at a fast pace. Season 2 of "The Golden Girls", as well as "Boy Meets World" Season 3 and "Home Improvement" Season 2, are on the schedule for next spring. I've posted preliminary cover art for these three upcoming...
