I know trying to find this set is like a needle in a haystack, but thanks to fellow HTF members I've been able to round up Golden Age Vols. 1-4.
I am willing to pay for VOLUME 5 or mix in some trades with any rare items you might be looking for...a few of those LDs I have include "Robinson...
I got a review copy a couple of weeks ago and there are both widescreen AND full-frame versions on there. To me, the full-screen version feels better composed -- the 1.85 matting seems VERY tight at times. Without re-igniting the whole Harryhausen aspect ratio argument here, I just think the...
UPDATE: Thanks to a fellow member I'm all set on Vol. 3. I'm still on the hunt for Vols. 2, 4, and 5. All trades, wants, -- let me know, and/or name your price.
Hi guys, I know most every laserfan either has these or is still looking for them, but if anyone has a copy of GOLDEN AGE OF LOONEY TUNES Vol. 2, 3, 4, or 5, I'd be happy to hear from you. Name your price OR I have some rare LD/DVDs for trade as part of a package including: ROBINSON...

Also, the turbolift scene, is completely different. It gives
close-ups of Kirk and Saavik, instead of the long shot on
the DVD version.
That sounds more like a result of the Pan&Scan process than...
The point of Universal not spending the $ on REAR WINDOW is well taken.
Having seen most of Zoetrope's transfers on titles like THE CONVERSATION (which you mentioned), plus discs like THE FANTASTICKS and TUCKER (the aspect ratio notwithstanding), I think these 3 discs are every bit as good as...
I agree with Kenneth. I got my review copy yesterday and the transfers from my quick look were good, if not better, than the last round of laserdisc releases -- which were, IMHO, VERY good.
And Coppola did obviously approve this DVD (I assume American Zoetrope produced the DVD and its...
I can't vouch for the Apex and I'm sure the Malata is every bit as good as promised, but if you are looking for an inexpensive machine that does everything except 16:9 PAL conversion for 4:3 ntsc sets, the Sampo is a good bet.
I've owned a 620 that plays flawlessly, has multi-region support and...
The video on the LIVE DVD is far superior, IMHO. The Universal release looks washed out and grainier by comparison.
On the other hand, the remixed sound is genuinely remastered.
Definitely worth a buy for the sound and the supplements -- though I'd hold onto the older DVD for the transfer.
This is much ado about nothing.
I couldn't really understand why the original version was PG-13 to begin with -- it's pretty light stuff.
So what if they cut out 2 lines to attain a PG. It's a movie BASED ON A TV CARTOON SHOW (and comic book characters) for crying out loud!
Are they...
I ordered one from Deep Discount DVD and received it last Wednesday. Obviously I wasnt expecting it for several weeks but hey, no shipping and got it a week ahead of street date!
Transfer is 16X9, the subtitles are fine, and the only audio track is 2.0 Espanol. No extras aside from the usual...
Wasn't CONAN THE DESTROYER shot entirely with a PG rating in mind to begin with? I remember reading that the whole idea of the movie was to make a milder, kid-friendlier Conan movie that was more of an '80s fantasy film. As much as I'd like to see it, I doubt any "R" rated version even exists.
