Pioneer DVL-919 DVD / LD player replacement?

Thanks for your reply! Yeah, I know what I’d like a fully new system to do but I definitely need professional help selecting and installing the equipment, wiring, etc. I’m in Staten Island, New York. I called one place in New Jersey with a great reputation for sales and service and they told me...

Pioneer DVL-919 DVD / LD player replacement?

I gotcha. As stated, I’d like to just set up a NEW system for DVD, CD, Vinyl and streaming services such as SiriusXM, etc. with a new TV as well. Problem is getting ANYONE to help me make informed equipment selection and then install and fine tune the components. I want a turnkey event but I’m...

Pioneer DVL-919 DVD / LD player replacement?

Thank you men for your respective inputs. Ideally I need to just chuck everything I have and start anew but it’s apparently easier “thought about” than done. I’m having a real tough time finding ANY AV store or service that will listen to what I want in a system and make recommendations. With a...

Pioneer DVL-919 DVD / LD player replacement?

I believe that’s what is being used. My system was installed by the equipment supplier but I’m pretty sure it’s using the component / s video connections. No optical or HDMI that is for sure! Am I out of luck? I’m trying to just swap out the old DVD player for a new one without having to revamp...

Pioneer DVL-919 DVD / LD player replacement?

Looking for advice on a current (good or great) DVD player (no LD) to replace my vintage Pioneer DVL-919 DVD / LD player. I want the new player to have the same physical connections as the current Pioneer so I don’t have to rewire the whole system. If anyone is familiar with the Pioneer and it’s...

Aging Home Theater / Stereo System

Hello all! Been a while since I posted / participated on the forum due to myriad reasons. Anyway, I am back and I have a question that hopefully can be answered. I have an aging home theater / stereo system - the components are in pristine condition but some no longer function and repair seems...

Sony DVP-NS50P to Marantz SR-18 Connection - NO Sound!

Not sure exactly what you mean. Also, "Dig 3 In" and "Dig 4 In" are in use as well as the "RF In." Most of the "audio" connections to the right of these connections are also taken except for "TV" - "LD" and maybe 1 or two others further to the right.

Sony DVP-NS50P to Marantz SR-18 Connection - NO Sound!

Sam: If I use the coaxial digital out from the Sony, WHERE would I connect it on the SR-18? Not many open spots left at the moment. Also, I cannot get the SR-18 menu on the screen (OSD) - I tried and the manual is just way to confusing - any ideas? The Sony menu is quite simply and right now, is...

Sony DVP-NS50P to Marantz SR-18 Connection - NO Sound!

Sam: Thanks for your reply, I hope the images I've attached are viewable. As for the connections for the Sony DVD player, the "component" cables are connected to the SR-18 in the top middle where it says "Component Video." The other set of component connections are being used by the Pioneer...

Sony DVP-NS50P to Marantz SR-18 Connection - NO Sound!

I have my Sony DVP-NS50P (Cheap) CD/DVD player connected via "component" cables to my Marantz SR-18 AV Surround Receiver. The audio (L / R) is connected to the "LD" audio input on the Marantz by way of Monster cables. When these components were connected via "S-Video" connections, all worked...

No Color Using Component Cable Connections?

Hello all! Thanks for your replies. I did something I should have done 'initially' - I located the instruction manual for the DVL-919 and after "searching" I found out how to access the confusing "menu" to switch the output from "S" video to "component!" For sure, given current systems, this is...

No Color Using Component Cable Connections?

I just updated my "older" system by replacing the "S" video connections with new "component" connections, going from my Pioneer DVL-919 to the Marantz SR-18 and out to a 51" Samsung Plasma TV. Sound, clarity, etc. is all good but NO COLOR, just B&W! Can anyone advise what the problem may be? I...

    LOEWE Art 736 MB01

The stand I have (that the broken Loewe is sitting on presently) is 39 inches wide and 21 inches deep - it should be able to support the stand that comes with the new television that I would get. Since the idea of "bulb" replacement is not a happy one for me, I think either LED or LCD will be...

    LOEWE Art 736 MB01

Hello again. Ok, here goes: the room is approximately 12 x 15 (basement) and I can make it pitch black if desired as there is only 1 window and it has a room darkening (blackout) shade on it; the ceiling lights are on dimmers so I have full control of the lighting. As to size, I have...

    LOEWE Art 736 MB01

Gentlemen, thanks for your replies, much appreciated. Can anyone recommend a good flat panel replacement? I have room (once I remove the 2 ton Loewe) and would trust the opinions I get from this forum, over the "internet reviews." Thanks in advance for any assistance!!! PS: I would use the stand...

    LOEWE Art 736 MB01

I have a LOEWE Art 736 MB01 36" digital television and it seems the power supply or something "snapped" tonight when I turned it on; now it shuts itself off and there is a burning smell coming from the back of it. The question is: is it worth fixing or is it too old (purchased in April 2000 for...

    Monster Htps7000ss & Avs2000

OK, thanks to all for replying. I "think" I'm getting this now - the "on / off" switch on the AVS2000SS is for the "switched" outlets only and also the three (3) LED displays on the unit (voltage, correction and ampere draw). So, if I connect my AVS7000SS to the "unswitched" outlet on the back...

    Monster Htps7000ss & Avs2000

Nicholas: Thank you for your "quick" reply - that is one of my concerns - that the connected equipment will NOT be regulated when the AVS2000 is OFF. However, it makes sense that it is OK as long as it is just the VCR clocks and cable box clocks that are "powered" - in my case, my Marantz A/V...

Hi: Thank you for your replies. Right now, I have a small FM-specific roof mounted antenna with the coaxial cable coming straight down to the back of my equipment (via a stop at the Monster HTSP7000 signature series power center first). However, I am concerned that even with this protection...

New Power Center and Connections - NEED HELP!!

Hello Again! Well, I don't have my cables going through a "whole house" protection system, that would be quite a task at this point, since the house is basically "sealed." I had a licensed electrician install the whole house surge protectors for the electrical side of things, however, as you...

New Power Center and Connections - NEED HELP!!

Hi: Thanks for replying. I have not measured the fluctuations, however, the Panamax 1000+ that got toasted was "stuck" in the "overvoltage" mode which, according to the manual, is anything greater that 130 volts. My whole neighborhood and others I'm sure, experience these problems and although...
