Rotel RB-1080 power amp keeps blowing fuses, I have B&W Matrix 802 I recently bought a pair of B&W Matrix 802 Series 3 speakers on eBay and powered them with an Yamaha 3090 integrated amp. After a few months I decided to upgrade my Amplifier to Rotel Pre/Power and got RSP-1068, RMB-1075 and the...
If anyone can help me out here I will let them have a Don Coscarelli signed poster (it's about 18"x12") as part of the deal, I'll require proof that it is a genuine signed copy of Re-animator and I'll do the same with the poster.
Re-animator is perhaps my favourite all time film, and if anyone could get me a signed copy of the Millennium Edition of Re-Animator from Dave's Video in Studio City, when director Stuart Gordon and star Jeffrey Combs do their in-store signing next month, I would be forever greatful. It would be...
I've just bought 'The Book Of The Dead' but would also like a full screen version of the film so I have the best of both worlds. Should I go for a copy of 'Anchor Bays' original 1999 release (I believe there are five different covers for this title), or 'Elite Entertainments' special edition...
AGAINST:-...
Inferior picture quality.
Horizontal 'pan n scan'
No 'With In The Woods'
Re-buying Same old 'Extras Features'
Rather costly
FOR:-.......
Nice packaging
CONCLUSION:-
It's a no...
If THX is a standard then how can you have a 'newly approved THX DVD transfer' for a title that's already had a DVD release. I thought THX meant, the best transfer possible, whether there were limitations due to quality of the best available print source, or not. So how can you improve on the so...
Are you (Matthew K) on Anchor Bay's pay roll or what, it all sounds very touching. I'm not bothered how much time or trouble they spent trying to get 'Within The Woods', perhaps if they had dug as deep into their pockets as they expect us to do, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Together...
Don't laugh! They're totally serious.
Yes... this is an 70 minutes of burning wood. But it's not just any wood. This is OAK.. and everyone knows that oak is the best wood to burn in a fireplace. Oh yeah... and there is audio. MAJOR audio. Listen to this!
There are 13 ways to play this...
Talking Heads - Stop making Sense, it seems as though this title has been overlooked, or is it just me who thinks it's brilliant. As well as an excellent 16x9 picture, it also has two different DD5.1 mixes, a live ambient mix with plenty of reverb as you'd expect, and a tighter more controlled...
I'm having two small problems with 'Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs' on my Toshiba 3107, both are on disc one, the problems are:-
1. There is no sound, when the Gentleman introduces Barbra Streisand's rendition of 'Some Day My Prince Will Come'. It makes no difference whether I access this...
I noticed dvdpricesearch.com have added a new store to their price database called North American DVD and after checking a few titles on my wants list, found they come out on top on almost every one.
Looking at their shipping charges, which seem to be $3 to USA & $4 to UK (according to...
The Region 1 'French Connection 5-Star' would cost me £15.99 GBP (Inc. shipping) and the 'Collectors Box' £17.99 so I guess the 'DIFFERENCE' is £2 (That's less than $3 US), it's a no brainer really.

As Jeff said, your mind has fooled you into thinking the shot was longer than it actually was Gerardo, or it could be because you usually hit the freeze frame button at that point. The truth is out!
I haven't noticed a problem either. I guess if enough people, like myself, have had no noticable problems, then perhaps it's your player. You could let us know a point during the concert where it is most noticable.
I don't have DTS and was wondering how the Dolby Digital track sounded. I am worried that the bit rare on the DD5.1 ch may have been compromised to accommodate DTS, I don't want to get the new version and find that I'm losing out sound wise.
"......people have been complaining that the DVD is "defective" because it has a lip-sync problem......MGM is not to blame".
Of coarse they are to blame, they should have corrected this problem before they released it, especially if it's only a question of a few minutes, but then again...
Thanks Danny, if you come across any more info or a review I'd be very grateful if you could update this post with a link, I'll do the same. As it stands I'm definitely getting the collection, but I'm a long way from being decided on which one, I agree that picture quality is the number one...
Anyone know what the difference are, if any, between the R1 and R2 versions of Fawlty Towers (Complete Series). I know that one is two discs and the other three, but it's mainly the specs and additional features I'm interested in. Of course the quality of the transfer is important, but I'll have...
Rob G, the reason I opted for copying-and-pasting, as opposed to providing the relevant links to the two reviews, was because it was only the picture quality I had issue with, perhaps I should have mentioned this when I posted the new topic. I copied and pasted the relevant segments of each...

DVD REVIEW..............
Universal Home Video brings us "An American Werewolf In London" in a beautiful widescreen transfer that is enhanced for 16x9 television sets. The transfer is very clean and devoid of any speckles or defects...
Firstly, I have the original release on dvd, and I too was excited about a re-release especially as I have a 16x9 TV. But I have two reservations:- First of all, if it was originally shot 1.33:1 than any 16:9 version must be significantly cropped top and bottom. Secondly, I only have a DD5.1...
