Yes I'm sure all the 16mm lower quality inserts they had to use on the DVD is the reason this hasn't been released in HD. Probably a very expensive project since it involves the majority of episodes.
But unfortunately they have never had more than about 30% of the golden era live action films on the service. That has always been my only complaint with Disney plus and I always had my doubts that they would have the entire Disney catalog available on the streaming service as some thought they...
I can't watch any shows colorized. Modern or old Colorization it all looks too fake and artificial to me so I end up constantly looking at the colorization and can't concentrate on the show itself.
Even if they stop making them in 5 years we still have another 3-4 years of selling off stock and closeout sales before everything is gone. So its safe to say we will be buying discs for another decade.
With HB Superstars release date pushed back a week. And with no preorder available, It appears a sure thing that this release date will be pushed back a week or two.
Sad to see them go but I too joined to get their classic live action films on blu ray which for the past 4 years they have released almost nothing, not that the amount of releases was great before. I decline every month so I guess I don't have to complete my 2nd membership. I wanted to buy more...
Great news and I hope this doesn't get taken down after a year like 12 o clock high. I like to view series 1 or 2 episodes a week. I had just finished season 1 of 12 o clock and then it was gone.
The Arrow Blu Ray is a slight upgrade over the DVD's. I haven't seen the Aussie Release so can't comment. I imagine they are taken from the same master.
For those that have followed their TV on DVD releases since the beginning in 2010 it makes more sense. They released all the Warner tv western shows on DVD except for this one but intended to release Colt .45 as well but it needed more extensive restoration because it was in poorer condition...
