Remember the one about peeing on a live rail resulting in electrocution? They rigged their favorite manequin with a "bladder" so it could pee? I think that was very early on in the series...
Seems that people love their Asus computers, espcially the "built on" models, or "barebone", etc... These are the basic notebooks that resellers like pctorque or istnc.com etc.. take and add your CPU, memory, wireless card etc... great bang for the buck. Definitely check out the forums...
I quit watching during the first episode due to the g*d d**n laugh track. Also quit during first episode of Four Kings (or whatever the title). And, I'm almost lost on 2 1/2 Men for the same reason--stupid artifical laugh tracks cued up after every single line spoken. The shows aren't THAT...
I liked the continuation of the fishing theme though... Seems that with this show, as well as others like West Wing, when they try to inject too much politicizing, too much overt polarization of current issues, that they suddenly become not funny and not entertaining... The whole courtroom...
Brian, if you have to suppress your feelings and opinions so much about this show, there's no need to post... ;) ;) I want to like this show, and as much as I want to watch Gugino, I have to admit that the plots are thin, as is character development. They all seem to be sleepwalking their...
I can't believe how many times I burst out laughing during this episode. "did you say Klingons??" -- I can see the writers using this as the starting point around which they wrote the whole fishing scenario... "let's see, how many references to Star Trek can we work into this episode?..."...
There seem to be so few shows where you can pull out truly funny lines--but Locklear's suggestion that she'd send her pants to Denny so he could get try to get into them on his own time.......laugh out loud funny..... I bet they'll do backstories on the new cast members in future episodes.
While working on the first item in his list--his first "good deed"--cleaning up around the motel parking lot, the ticket blew back to him, and he claimed the $100,000... Karma, sometimes it works I guess...
Well, some of your comments may have swung me over to watching the first two episodes when they air again, caught part of it last night--couldn't really buy into it, but then, I'll admit, I didn't catch the premiere. I want to watch it if for nothing more than it's being filmed in "my back...
I found myself constantly wondering what was wrong--what was wrong with the writing, acting, etc... I was disinterested during the entire show. It's like they put 12 monkeys in a room with typewriters... From season 1 that was pretty consistantly interesting, to the premier that was...
Uh... whatever happened to the subplot of Isabel potentially hurting her half-sister, requiring a hospital admission? Did I miss an episode? (I'm pretty sure I didn't...) Perhaps the best thing about the 4400 in this time slot is that I've started to watch The Dead Zone...
Do you have some kind of depth or weight limitation? If not, it seems the best value/performance is still the old CRT RPTV. You can get a Mitsubishi 65" for less than $2500 (well, at Best Buy for example in the US). You do have to control the lighting a bit more than with the newer...
So what portion of the PC is the recovery CD linked to? What if I need to replace my motherboard? Is that considered to be my "computer"? Is it my physical box? The CPU? If I still only have one computer, should I be able to re-install the original OS I bought with it? Even though due to...
Some have suggested that the recovery CD is only partial, and that the bulk of the OS is in a hidden partition on the HD... Not much use if your HD crashes (sorry, WHEN your HD crashes)...:) :frowning: So I guess it makes sense that the recovery CD is complete, but as you say, linked to...
Carlo--question for you (BTW, nice explanation)... In the scenario at the very end of your post--is it not true that most PC's don't come with a full OS installation disk? Mine only came with a "recovery" CD... In another thread I asked what I'd do if my existing HD crashed--how would I...
Locke didn't only regain use of his legs, but grew an extra pair of cojones! The homage to "Office Space" was really funny--gotta get those TPS reports finished... We've had problems with our local ABC station not flipping the switch at 8pm for the network feed. But tonight it was flipped...
The annoying sister--the Kim Bauer of Lost....ha ha... Picture quality on my station didn't seem to exceptional as some of the raves--but then, they are simulcasting 3 channels, one digital, one HD, one ABC news feed. It's interesting enough to watch a few more times, but already too many...
Hey Gregg, you got some kind of lock on this thread preventing updates showing last post time/user, and number of reads/posts? I see now that this thread must have been moved--I was posting to the one under tv programming... Nevermind...
"cannot easily pick up OTA HD" Is there a strict definition for that? Does it require a rooftop antenna and a lack of a grade B signal? In other words, will those without a rooftop antenna have to put one up first to prove lack of reception? In my case, I can get ABC-HD and PBS-HD with...
But...even if the characters are becoming more complex, without the uniqueness of the earlier seasons, it becomes just another soap opera--all about peoples' problems that happens to be set in a funeral home, which seems to be a backdrop no longer used much for additional impact or storyline...
I found myself switching channels during this episode. They've totally lost the quality from season one that made it compelling. No whimsy, no quirkiness. For as interesting as the characters are so far, they might as well all be six feet under...unless, Claire and Mena's character "get...
Based on the title of this thread--"LOOKS at Northern Exposure"--I'd hope more would be commenting on the content rather than form (but I agree with observations). I picked it up at CC for $35, watched the first episode last night, and realized I had a smile on my face the whole time--both...
