I definitely agree. Its very disappointing its broken, especially with all the fun goals to strive for. It looks more and more like the PC version will be fixed by fans. A lot of the information appears to be available to fix. It looks like a lot of the great High Heat modders are on the job...
The PC version may be fine for MVP, at least new roster sets may help avoid the bugs for career mode. To early to tell though, and I haven't checked back lately. MVP is a lot of fun to play, but does have some issues. I can't imagine any baseball game that you controll like MVP or ESPN ever...
The comments were definitely biased, but it helped whet my appetite for information on the game. The GoneGold thread is a bit better: http://www.gonegold.com/ubb/ultimate...c;f=2;t=016268 BF: Vietnam will have more to prove then BF1942, since its a sequel. I bet it will have a bunch of bugs...
This guy isn't to happy with the game: http://opa-ages.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6077 Impressions at Gonegold seem more favorable though. I can't decide about Vietnam. WWII just seems to make a better game. Politics aren't as murky, and the opposing sides seems to match up better in...
I love it, and can't wait. The DVD version is only $40 now, with an included headset from Logitech. I had been looking forward to playing Halo 2 online with the vehicles, but now not really. UT 2004's vehicles and gameplay modes are very well done. I didn't like the pacing of UT2003, and...
Like the Dreamcast's controller? Certainly not as pretty as the GBA, but its certainly not a unique idea to Nintendo. I imagine the translations by IGN were poor. I imagine Nintendo is claiming that the gameplay is most important, not the graphics, sound, or even story. There have been lots...
I just got this game in a trade: http://www.hoylegames.com/majestic_chess.jsp Majestic Chess is interesting so far. I'm also trying to learn Chess in general as I go, and currently am struggling. The neat feature about Majestic Chess is its adventure mode. You perform quests and solve...
I really enjoyed Chrono Cross as well. I found the combat system to be much better then any of the Final Fantasy games lately (7-10). I'm not sure how you can view the combat system as simpler? Chrono Cross had an amusing story, decent characters, good graphics, etc. Its biggest win over the...
I love Audible as well. Its the perfect marriage with an iPod. It makes commuting and running on the treadmill that much better. The only downside for me is that I can no longer find my iPod half of the time, as my wife is always taking it to listen to books as well. :)
I actually picked this up for my wife and I to play. I've never played this before and was worried about liking any of the music. The trailer for the game had a couple tracks I liked, so I got this version instead of the PS2 one. I can't offer much of a review for the game, as I'm so new to it...
Very short game unfortunately, but apparently very high quality like Max Payne 2. I've decided, at least, that 6-8 hours of excellent quality beats a 12 hour game with fluff, like most are. I'll be grabbing this when it goes on sale. The multiplayer looks good, especially the kill-cam, but...
Someone pointed out recently to me that the players don't have much variety, ie Warrick Dunn really doesn't look dramatically different then Ricky Williams, as far as the player model goes. Sega seems to do a better job of this, has that been fixed in Madden? NCAA 2004, all the players really...
There is definitely information on EASports site about Fifa, and its online service. I haven't seen any definitely press releases about Fifa in general yet though. If its online, I buy Fifa, if not, I'll just wait for the next Winning 11. http://www.easports.com/games/fifa2004/ps2onlinefaq.jsp
The clips and interviews on EASports look great. Owner mode looks to be pretty indepth, approaching the Front Office Football games. I think the new playmaker control looks good too. I'm going to be disappointed though if there are still generic defensive playbooks for each team, and if...
NFL Fever will have the best online options with the XSN Sports setup. Its also rumored to have three free months free Live support, for new users. I've heard that Fever's gameplay isn't that bad, and should be improved a lot. Arguably, its the best looking game. Fever may be the easiest to pick...
Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere, but apparently the new OXM has a demo of ESPN football. I didn't see mention of the 1st person mode though. Supposedly it looks a lot better, and has a lot of fixes from last years version, like removing the five yard dive tackles, better animations...
Robin - I'm getting both, I don't care which is better. Both Madden and Sega shine in certain areas, fail in others. I think you need to evauluate the FPS thing first hand before criticizing it. But hey, you're welcome to form your opinions without data if you'd like. The feature was...
EGM has gone downhill. Not nearly enough discussion for each game on why it receives the rating it does. This is really true for sports games. The Madden game could produce crap for the next couple years and still win. Granted, its a very good game, but I think that ESPN is a lot closer then...
I don't trust EGM reviews much anymore, especially for sports games. They're pretty biased towards EA in general. That said, I'll probably get both. I like Sega's football simulation better when on the field. I hated it at first last year, but appreciated it the more I played. No more...
I think I got both of you in. We'll probably start Friday, so I think the league is now full :). I need to chase a couple others down, then schedule. Hopefully you got an email, though I'm not sure if the group list went out right :).
