I agree with Kevin. If you look at some of the older Class A-AAA rated pre-pro's, those would be great value. They were high quality and solidly built. Lexicon DC2/MC1 are good options with the MC1 having better DACs. The Sony TA-E9000ES is an outright bargain. These were really...
Have you checked to see if you have a cable running from your receiver to your TV? If not, use a RCA cable from the Coax out (near bottom left back) and run it into the Video in on your TV.
Even though the RX-V1400 is rated at 110w X 7, the Nautilus line likes (requires) more power to drive them smoothly. You may be ok at lower volumes but you should really look into 200 watt amplification to bring out the best of B&W speakers especailly the Nautilus, Matrix, CDM, & 700 series.
John, Go 8008X3 or 8008X5. Aragon is quality stuff. I have always loved the 8008x3 series. The Acurus 200x3 are good too. Unless you pocket book is bulletproof, pull the trigger for some nice Bryston 6B sst & 4B's. As Ricky says, you may need a little more power (200+ watts in 8 ohms)...
Here's my 2 cents for Kevin. Keep the Proceeds & Acurus. Sell the Bryston Sonically, the Bryston ST is slighty better than the Acurus less the power. The Proceeds are equivalent to the Brystons just more warmer. The BPA/AMP combo has more power than your ST combo. If your Bryston were...
NA is North America. Fyi. I shipped an amplifier to the US and it was $50cad difference between UPS 5-day ground and 3-day air. Drew is correct, air (expedited) includes brokerage.
Anything made in NA and shipped from Canada to the US wont be charged duty according to NAFTA. According to UPS, US recipients will get charged a handling fee if Canadians use 5 day ground. If we use 3 day air, americans dont get dinged. Best of both worlds to pay for 3 day air rather than 5...
The Paradign Studio and Signature series could be comparable to the B&W Nautilus 800 series and the Signiture 800 series. Both companies use the same drivers I believe between the 2 lines, just different crossover settings and better tweaks. B&W drivers obviously are different from Paradigm...
I agree with Drew...but... I am not sure why so many people in their HT get just a solid 2 channel amp for their front left/right channels and use different amplification for their center channel speaker? I can see that the surrounds dont need as much power but I think the Center channel...
Luis, Here is another option for a 5 channel under $1k Acurus A200x5 in 8 ohms. These are reliable. http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/wtb....ult&1087712784 Not sure if its still available.
The Outlaw is cheap if you want to go the separates route. For the price, it certainly isnt too bad an idea if you were thinking about spending C$1500+ on a receiver.
