    Help from Paradigm PDR-10 Owners

They are the ones that tried to get the info for me. They just told me today that they are getting no where with them.

    Help from Paradigm PDR-10 Owners

Does anyone have a PDR-10 at all? At this point I'd be willing to check against any version rather than trying to lock it down to just v3. Just frustrated as this is my second PDR-10 in about 7 years and I far from abuse it. Still have monitors from Paradigm that I bought back in '93 or so.

    Help from Paradigm PDR-10 Owners

I have a PDR-10 v.3 that has a resistor that is fried beyond identification. Can anyone tell me what the coding is on R101? Haven't heard back from Paradigm. Transistor is also bad, but we know what that one is.

Upconverting DVD for CRT RPTV suggestions

As my Sony RPTV only has a DVI input, would I be better suited with the Oppo 971 over the 970?

Upconverting DVD for CRT RPTV suggestions

Never thought about that, but if it's anything like my Optical audio switcher where I have to manually switch it, that's kind of annoying. I'll look into it though. Anyone have any actual models and manufacturers of DVD players I should look at? Haven't found much info on that Sony from...

Upconverting DVD for CRT RPTV suggestions

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I only have 2 component connections on the rear of the TV and both are in use, one with cable box (I don't think our HDMI is active on our boxes in my area) and the other with digital tuner as my built in bit the dust. Had to actually pull my PS2 from component...

Upconverting DVD for CRT RPTV suggestions

Can anyone suggest a low cost upconverting DVD player for a Sony HD Rear Projection CRT TV(KDP 51WS550)? I picked up a Toshiba SD-K860 at Costco, but never unboxed it as the review homtheaterhifi wasn't promising. I'm trying to replace my Sony DVP-S300 which is about 10 years old and doesn't...

    Paradigm PDR-10 repair

I think most prices are a ripoff, but they are what they are. Back up you comment, why do you think it is a ripoff. I've had no other problems short of it going bad. I've been happy otherwise with its output and it matches the rest of my speaker system.

    Paradigm PDR-10 repair

98 isn't old, my main Paradigm speakers where bought back in '93 and are still going strong. For $300 I got a new PDR-10 which just came in a couple of days ago. Box is smaller than the old one, so had to do a double take to make sure it was the right one.

    Paradigm PDR-10 repair

Okay, started to get some gradual static out of my sub. At first I thought I was having some power issues, but upon trying different outlets, realized there was something wrong. Later developed into every time it was turned on static right when it was turned on. Brought it in to a local...

Yeah, for the speakers I was thinking a basic frame with the speaker cover fabric stapled to the opening and then some type of clips kind of like the ones used on speakers. That way I could just pull off the covers if I ever need to get in there.

I think I spent a little under $200 on the material, and I had to get a shelf pin jig, 3/4" router straight bit, and couple of other things that might have added another $75 or so on top of that. I was thinking of putting some doors on it, but my wife filled the empty spaces pretty well. We'll...

Thanks Aaron. I went with 3/4" oak veneer plywood with some edge banding. Will stain it with Puritan Pine to try and match with the existing rustic pine furniture. I made all three sections separate so I can move it into the house. Can't say I did the greatest job, but nobody will know the flaws...

    HDTV Broadcasts in 5.1 Surround?

That shouldn't have anything to do with it, mine is through optical too (if you're setup is like mine, I only had one optical input on my receiver with many devices outputing optical so I picked up a 4 port switch from RatShack). In my area I have Comcast, but this also pertains to my OTA stuff...

Here's what I have so far I want to drill holes down through the shelves starting where the speaker will go and then one out the back at the very bottom. Anyone have a suggestion as to what size holes I should drill? Should I cut a hole out the back for the speaker shelves and only through...

Tracy, Nice looking piece. I couldn't check out the plans, but from what I see from the photo, it looks like it took some time to put together. Unfortuanetly, I don't have the space that you have. Here's a photo of what I have now: Here's the plan I sketched up:

Yeah, I've seen the flexy rack and I don't think it will fit in with the decor, but thanks. Brian, That would be great. I believe you can click above my post for my e-mail. I sketched up in a CADD program what I'm thinking about, now just need to associate it with some basic plans and...

Great looking piece John. I think Joey is right with it being to ambitious for me. I really have limited tools, circular saw, straightedge, and router (no table). I may be able to hook up with someone that has more tools, but was trying to mainly do it at home. My thoughts were some basic boxes...

Anyone know where I can find some plans for and entertainment center for my 51" RPTV? I have a general idea of what I'd like to build, but not very knowledgeable with woodworking, so I need some guidlines. I like the general design of the one here but can't seem to find if the article ever had...

    RPTV and speakers

Went to the convergence setup and noticed no visible interference and also put DVE in and went to the overscan screen and didn't see anything there. I'd assume I'm looking for the same thing I would get on my directview and that is discoloration in a radius pattern.

    RPTV and speakers

Those are my Titan's which I don't use for the fronts and I just slapped them up. The 3se MkII are a taller speaker and I place them on the stand that the right speaker is on in the picture. Unfortunately I won't have much room for the speaker on the left of the picture so that speaker will be...

    RPTV and speakers

Kind of a toss up between what forum to put this in, but I'll try here. I just received my Sony KDP51WS550 and I have some Paradigm MkII 3se's which are equivalent to monitor 3's today. unfortunately they are not shielded. I know unshielded speakers are suppose to interfere with RPTV's as...

    HDTVs that don't take 720p?

I realize this post is a couple of weeks old, but I'm looking at the Sony KP51WS510 and noticed on page 42 of the manual found here that "This projection TV is capable of receiving 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i digital TV formats (note that 720p is displayed as 480p). Now I have a PS2 and not an...

    To warranty, or not warranty?

Sorry to pirate this thread, but is the Tweeter warranty any different than the BB or CC? Was looking at a Sony KP51WS510 and the guy mentioned their extended warranty for $350 and stated it included a yearly visit for adjusting and cleaning, even including any convergence issues. Is this...

    Comcast digital audio

Thanks for the info Jeremy. This is a real kick in the pants. One of the reasons I got Digital Cable was for the PPV in hopes that I wouldn't have to run to the rental store every weekend, but I guess I will still have to for the DD and it doesn't look like there is any letterbox offerings like...

    Comcast digital audio

    Speaker wire

I'm getting ready to run my surround and front speaker cables in my house (in walls and attic) and have done some reading on this site and it seems to be that a run of a decent length should be 12 ga wire. My question is, I would like to add ceiling speakers in the future to other rooms and I...
