Looks like scarecrow.com (my favorite video store right down the street) is selling the Italian (PAL) version for $45. That is slightly more than dvd.it (about $41 US), but ground shipping from Scarecrow is only $4 so I think you'll end up ahead in the end. Just FYI. Cheers! Dan
A 4-DVD set of Until the End of the World is now out in Italy. This is the full director's cut, presented in three parts. Was wondering if anyone was going to order this and could post a review? Cheers! Dan
As a big fan of the original series and characters, I tuned in to see just how much they had ruined it. Turns out I found myself enjoying it a bit. It definitely lacks the charm of the original series, but I have to admit, it's not nearly as bad as I was expecting. Still, all things...
I brought my LVD2001 over to a friend's house to put it though its paces. He normally runs a Panasonic DVD-H1000 into a professionally calibrated Pioneer Elite 720 which yields great results. We compared Raiders and Titanic on both players. Raiders of the Lost Ark We both agreed that the...
Hey...it's cool to see some action on this old thread. I think this movie was a bit of a sleeper first time around. Since it didn't get much buzz, no one really knows about it, and thus no one is really clamoring for its release. Too bad, as it is a nice little film with some great scenes. Also...
If you would have told me that one day, we'd be sitting here, about to have the world's Seinfeld-on-DVD problem solved, I would have said you're crazy. Now, help me push this giant box of Seinfeld videotapes out the window.
I've also got the same set and am also really interested in recommendations. I was hestiating on buying the RP91 since it's getting a little long in the tooth. Thought Panny or someone else might have a good killer replacement coming out (with scaling) but so far, I'm not hearing of much...
very very cool. Yeah, the Die Hard parady was great. I forgot that Skank was from the Ben Stiller show. Will be great to see that lovable rascal again. Other good Ben Stiller shorts to look for on your favorite P2P service: "The H is O" (I think this was from SNL) and "The Backstreet Boyz"...
Sorry...didn't mean to get everyone's hopes up, but the more awareness the better. Favorite ep is probably when Matthew gets his mini car that he drives around the office and gets in to a "hit and run". Or when the station gets reviewed and Phil Hartman revels in his "adequacy". Ah, too many to...
I'm looking forward to seeing this for the first time. I saw Peter Gabriel live on his recent "Growing Up" tour and it was a great show. I hope he plans to release a DVD of that one as well.
I'm not sure why the upconverted output is restricted to DVI for this product. I could understand it if we were talking about true HD source material, but the source signal for this player is still plain old DVD. Any potential bootleggers already have a more direct route to DVD bits through...
A friend of mine just bought a Denon DVM-1805 DVD carousel player. It lists MP3 playback, so I created an MP3 disc of tracks from my own collection. Some of the tracks were 192 CBR (Fraunhofer) and some were VBR (LAME). The CBR tracks play okay while the VBR's don't play at all. Can anyone...
I think I'm going to audition the Haydn's in my home. I appreciate the info on the LSi series, and I went and read some of the reviews. They sound like great speakers as well, but one of the factors at play here is form factor and I think the Haydn's will work better for me from that respect. If...
