Hi all, I have a Marantz SR7000 which I love the sound of. I recently finished my basement and am using it for my HT. I had the electrician run wires outside to my deck in preparation for installing some outdoor speakers. I'm getting ready to install the speakers and realize that the SR7000...
Definitely The Rush album. Rush has been my favorite band since I was 13-14 years old,(Permanent Waves). I have seen them 10 times in concert already.
I agree BTW that Test for Echo was their best Album in years. The new one is quite good as well.
When I read the title of the post, I thought...
Guys, Bottom line this for me. My main objective is to be able to transfer home movies to DVD, and to record onto DVD from my DirecTivo. What should I be looking at? Thanks, Ian
I was just wondering if some of you that have a satellite system still keep any sort of cable package as well, or did you do a clean break?
For some strange reason, I'm having trouble commiting to the DBS system. It's very unlike me, I usually buy now and think later.
Thanks,
Ian
I'm currently shopping for a new Direct TV system.
I definitely want to get the integrated tivo unit for one of the rooms. I've pretty much noticed two receivers:
The Sony at about $399 and the Phillips at about $199. Can anyone give me reasons why the Sony is that much more expensive. In...
Thanks for all the responses so far.
Steve....good questions. I'm only looking to get Tivo on 1-2 TVs. I did know that Tivo won't record HD, but didn't realize that I would need two receivers.
Much to think about.

Bill,
I had the same problem just last week. I called the techs at the store I bought it at and they were done with it in 10 minutes. I wasn't home, so I don't know what it was, but it's fixed now.

OK, I need some help from the Sat. Gods.
Here's what I would like to accomplish:
3-4 TV's. 1 of which is HDTV Ready.
I would like to get a system, that will be able to utilize my HDTV, AND take advantage of a TIVO type recorder(I don't own yet).
Is this possible? If it it, could someone...
I'll second the recommendation for the Panasonic. Although I haven't seen the LA95, I used to own the DVD-LA 85. It's a terrific player. I highly recommend it, and from what I've heard, the DVD-LA95 is even better.

Panasonic DVD-LA85
I'm selling my hardly used portable DVD player.
It's in perfect condition, the battery has only been charged twice. Everything that came in the box is included, even the blank warranty card.
I used it for two trips and will pretty much not be traveling anymore,(at least...
I all,
After much debate, I've dcided to sell my Bose N/C Headphones. They are about5 months old, but only used for 2 trips (4 times of actual use). I'm still on the original batteries.
These headphones are amazing..the only reason I'm selling them is because I don't use them.
You cannot...
I've had the Panasonic LA85 for about 6 months now. The picture is amazing. It's a great player. Unfortuantely, I'm probably going to sell it because I never use it.
I researched a few of them. The most recommendations I got were for the Pannasonic and Pioneer.

Overall, probably Galaxian. But in college I spent a ton of money on a game called Xenophobe. I don't remember seeing it alot away from my student center though.

Andrew,
I used to have the same problem with my Yamaha 5150. Someone told me to check the wiring connections. That was it. If any bare wire touches metal, or other bare wire, it'll shut the unit off. When the volume is loud, the unit may vibrate more causing the wires to touch.
No guarantees...
Jay,
When I recently bought my portable DVD, I too looked into some N/C headphones. I finally took the plunge and bought the Bose. They are incredible! I'm not even getting into the actual sound of the headphones...just the N/C feature. It's amazing just how much of that low end hum they take...
