Hi Jeremy. I've been looking at the 705 as well. From what I understand, it won't unconvert anything... But, to be sure, you can probably find the answer to your question in this thread over on avsforum: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=935808 -Chris
After deciding my current receiver's multi-zone out was too complicated for the rest of my family to use, I'm now looking for an inexpensive receiver to drive my new Polk Atrium 45 Outdoor Speakers (located above our deck/patio area). I'm looking for something inexpensive - under $50 (used...
Well, I got it to go, kind of a different way than I thought was necessary - running it thru a seperate amp. I think most of my issues were due to not having the remote, and a poorly written manual by Denon (for example it never mentions that the multiroom option will not pass audio from digital...
Never dreamed I'd have an issue with this, as I've owned this receiver for years. Finally decided to run some speakers outside to our patio area. I'm attempting to imitate the setup in the Living room before I run all the cable, and something with the settings on the receiver are stopping it...
Thanks for the suggestions Stephen. I've hunted around for reviews on the Denon 2807, and have really liked what I read. Not sure how the sound / amp compares to the 3801 (which has been a great receiver)... But, the rated output on the 2807 & 3801 seem similar, and obviously the 2807 gives you...
Sounds like everyone's in agreement on letting the format war sort itself out before spending too much money on it. The oppo looks to be a good holdover for not much cash in the mean time. Thanks for the feedback guys!
Thanks for the feedback John. Any idea how the picture on the Oppo using the upconversion might compare to HD DVD? With my Sony Player upconversion / hdmi, I am unable to tell much, if any difference between it and regular progressive scan using component cables.
This year’s tax return is going to allow me enough for 1 upgrade, and in my situation I really need to make it count & last for a while. I had pretty much decided to go with a new HD DVD Player ( Toshiba HD-A2 $500 ), but some of the reviews I’ve read make me wonder if I’ll be better off...
Thanks guys for the replies... Nathan, I can use my Amex points for pretty much any model, though the best deals are products available at Circuit City. I was trying to keep the cost under $180. I considered Sony, but heard the random play on the DVD-Changer would only do random on 1...
I'm using :star: American Express points to replace my old DVD player, so I wanted to get opinions here before I purchase something that will most likely be difficult to return. It's hooking up to a Hitachi widescreen, that has both dvi & component inputs, and displays everything in either...
My girlfriend & I were talking about this show the other day and were laughing about the "Men On Film" skits they used to do. Does anyone remember the character's names? I remember one was "Toine" (Don't get mad Toine!), but can't remember the other.
I haven't been able to get on for days - is anyone else having problems? Is this website still around? I get the following message: Failed to read headers to server: 208.42.81.123 (80) Reason: Headers were invalid or incomplete Thanks for any help...
My fiance & I are moving in together and thru some good luck (her ex worked at Circuit City) she actually owns a 57" Hitachi Widescreen set. Other than what I read in the manual, I am basically clueless about this set. I have a couple general questions. First off, it has virtual HD which I...
While Nemo's first on my list today (I'll be thankful for a break from Monsters Inc as the kids have watched that one about 1000 times now), I'll also be picking up The Honeymooners Classic 39 Episodes. Just in time for the cold weather.
I know information on this DVD changer is scarce right now, but hopefully I can get a few answers to some questions I have. If not, I'll probably buy it anyway and pass along my impressions. Does anyone know if Denon has fixed the subtitle problems that the 1805 had? Also, how is the menu...
Hi Jeffrey. I just sent you the money via Paypal, so you may want to check your account for the $20. Thanks for helping out on this one Jeffrey, I really appreciate it. :emoji_thumbsup:
Another reason to love this great site...

I have a feeling I'm reaching here, but thought I would give it a shot.
Basically, the buttons on the right side of my Pronto came apart (the clear plastic volume, channel, and mute buttons). It's a simple little plastic piece.
I also need, of less importance, the dark plastic light sensor...
I've been anxiously awaiting the release of the Toshiba 4700/5700 models. They're progressive players that supposedly also play DVD-Audio... msrp is around $400.
My question is, where are these players? They were supposed to be released in early June, yet now it's mid July and they're still...
Darold & Bill...
Thanks for the great info! I had no idea such a thing even existed (multiswith/multiplexers). I figured I'd be limited to 2 channels forever! Very cool. Now I'll be able to watch DSS in my computer room while chatting on HTF :)

I have a dual LNB system, but actually have 3 sat receivers (1 old one was upgraded but still works).
We are finishing a room in our basement, and I'd like to be able to watch satellite TV down there.
I figure b/c it's dual-lnb I can only see the same programming on the 2 sets using the split...
