Oppo Releases UDP-203 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player

I also have the Panny ub900 and it is a good player, but it does not play sacd's so I will buy the OPPO when back in stock. I do know the the construction on the Opposite is the Best! The Panny is very light as opposed to the Oppo 95 I sold. I think the Panny does a good job with HDR. You think...

Win a Denon X5200W 9.2 channel Dolby Atmos AVR with a copy of Insurgent on Blu-ray!

I would do a 7.2.4 with the Denon being the brains. I would go with Triad Gold speakers all around, for subs I would let Power Sound Audio design 2 18" dual subs. I would have a Seymour acoustic 120" screen with a JVC 4K projector. GIK would handle the acoustic treatments. This system should...

Win an Onkyo TX-NR1030 9.2 channel Dolby Atmos AV Receiver (Redux)

Would be nice with 9 of the M & K new speakers or even the 150's and 2 of PSA new 18" subs. JVC new 4k projector and a Stewart firehawk 120" screen of course all in my media room! The Onkyo is a start though.

Talk about a movie you can feel!!

I have to agree when the Source speaks it shakes your insides. At -8 the PB2 Ultra and the Von Schweikert S/3 got a workout. I actually felt the pressure in the room change!:D Got my bass fix for the week. I wonder how Kill Bill will be? Steve

    SVS PB1 Plus SUCKS........

ED, How do you think the numbers would look on a PB2 Ultra as opposed to the PB2 plus? BTW installed the new amp just yesterday. Not using the notch filter letting the BFD do its thing. Yea, I was suckered in to taking a peek. Proud owner of a PB2 Ultra and lov'in it! Steve

    Von Schweikert LCR-21

I can't comment on the LCR 20 but I have the LCR35 and it is one of the better Centers on the market. Knowing Albert I would say the LCR20 is a very adept center. I used to have a Paradigm Reference 7.1 system. When I was searching for an upgrade I spent 9 months and demoed almost 20 lines of...

Details on the InFocus ScreenPlay 4805?

The 4805 has not been released yet. I can tell you that the throw ratio is 1.74-2.09. It is have 1 M1/DA, 1 component, 1 composit, and 1 S-video connector. The image offset is 127.3% in 16:9 mode. This means 27.3% of your image height will equal the distance between the center of the lens and...

    Help me figure screen size?

I have pre-ordered the Infocus 4805 and will putting the PJ on a table 11 feet from a screen that will drop down in front of the RPTV. Infocus says the throw ratio is 1.74-2.09. I do have about 6 inches wiggle room. What is my maximum screen size? On another subject; Do to budget constraints...

    PB2+: Boomy-Bass with Underworld?

I usually listen to movies at -6-10db's calibrated with internal tones on a Lex MC-8. I had to listen at -18db's with Underworld on a PB2 Ultra and VSA S/3. The bass did pressurize a 7500/3 room but it seems the mix was chaotic. I guess you could say over cooked.;) Steve

ED, Could you expound on the PEQ on the 2Ultra amp? I have had the PB2 Ultra for 4 months but it was a beta unit with a 900 watt bash amp with out the PEQ. I am replacing it with the new 1000 watt amp with PEQ is it for 1 peak or what? I have a bfd just wondering how I can incorporate the eq in...

How to connect Tivo to get 5.1 sound?

I have a Dish 6000 which is connected to my Lexicon MC-8 for audio(optical). I was given a Tivo but can't decide how to connect it. I don't care if its only 2 channel for recordings but when I'm watching live I want 5.1 if it is available for that show. I have the HD connected directly to the...

What would you rplace a Panny RP-91 with?

Scot, I still use the aspect ratio and scaling features. I was curious if there were any new players that would do this and best the 91 in the Audio and Video department. You are right we are spoiled! Steve

What would you rplace a Panny RP-91 with?

The RP-91 has been an admiral performer and given a couple years of good service. What would be an upgrade to the 91 in the sub 1k area. Thanks, Steve

Subjective listening evaluation and/or comparison: VMPS Larger to SVS PB-2 Plus

Just to throw in another kudo for SVS, My room is 7500x3 and I had a hard time getting good bass in this size of room with 2 openings at each end. The PB2 Ultra solved this problem. I have it paired with a Von Schweikert S/3 and the bass in this huge room is astounding. It also does a great job...

    Review of PB2+ on hometheaterspot

If the review of the PB2 plus was a good review, I wonder if my PB2 Ultra is of the same ilk? I would assume it would be, with just a little more extension and output. Just curious. Steve

Have you reached the "point of diminishing returns" with your speakers?

I had A Paradigm Studio set-up for 3 years 100's/cc450/adp's/Active 20's/Servo 15a sub. I auditioned Def Techs,PSB's.Mirage,Vienna Acoustics, Dynaudio, ML's, and about 10 other lines. Rotel or Aragon for my 'digms?? SVS or 'digm for sub?

I would try the Parasound amps. There are some good buys for used 2205a's and if you get lucky you might find a couple of 2003a's for a 6 channel set-up. Steve

Rotel or Aragon for my 'digms?? SVS or 'digm for sub?

I used to have the Paradigm Studio 100's/cc450/adp's/Active 20's with a Servo 15a sub. I mated them with a MC-1 and Parasound 2205a and 2003a in a 7.1 system. The sound that I had was very good for both Music and Movies. I sold my Servo15a and went with an SVS and the bass dynamics rerally...

I have new respect for Yamaha

John,I'm shocked the Lex is history. Yet like you say it's a lot of mula sitting on the rack! I still love the MC-8 and think it was an improvement over the Mc-1. Before I went the seperate route I owned a DSP-A1 then the RX-V1 and have to say they were very solid pieces! People kept talking...
