He maybe should have called BB.com and talked to customer service. They may have allowed him to return it via mail. It does say at BB.com that mail in returns are doable.
First off sorry for you problems with Denon, though instead of complaning about them, your issue is with Bestbuy. There is no reason why they should not have excepted your receiver and issued you store credit or ability to exchange or purchase a new one. Looking at BB return policy doesn't...
Bluray is recorded in 24p so when it is pulled of the disk there is minimal reprocessing. I don't believe regular DvD's are recorded in 24p, so your going to end up with extra processing to display the image which could lead to artifacts. Also does your tv accept 24p?
My hidef setup consists of a Samsung LN-T4681F LED/LCD, Toshiba A30 HDDVD and PS3. I get my Hidef audio via a Denon 4806CI and the sound is amazing coming out of my Paradigm Studio setup.
Release the big movies that everyone is waiting for now and they will be bought. At the same time people on the edge or wanting to get into BR will see these titles already on the shelf and it may give them that little push.
Everything depends on your room size and wether you were under powering your speakers with the amp stage in your rec'v. If you weren't then adding an external amp is only going to give you more headroom. The sonic characteristics you will hear is that from the type of amp you would be adding.
Ron is there anywhere in your setup(advance wireless settings) that you can pick infrastructure or ad-hoc? From what I've read in your manual, on page Appendix B-1 it has to be in set to infrastructure to connect to wireless network devices. I had to do the same thing with my D-link.
Ron, sorry to hear your having so much trouble.. it appears that these things aren't as compatible with MAC's as one would like. When I talk about MAC filtering, in my Dlink Router it has a setting for Network filtering. Basically I'm telling my Router to only allow my notebook, PS3, Wii and...
Sorry Ron the procedure I typed was for my dlink. Here is what I pulled off netgears website. How to Log in Using the IP Address of the WGPS606 1. The Smart Wizard on the WGPS606 CD guides you through the process of assigning an IP address based on the addressing scheme used in your...
Use the various inputs on the back of the tv(component/S-video and audio inputs) to hook the units straight to the tv. The pickup on off the Harmony or similar universal remotes that allow you to setup activities and program it for each device and its corresponding inputs.
I bought my PS Audio P1000 Powerplant because the price was right. My PS Audio Duet to protect my Sub and hook my Powerplant to the wall. The Duet also offers an added level of protection and filtering before the powerplant
Ron, with my D-Link here is the procedure and I would assume its the same for the netgear to setup the print server. 1. Connect to Print server to Wireless router with Ethernet cable 2. Open an internet window and type http://dlinkps-(last six numbers of MAC address. 3. Click on setup to...
Sam your receiver does support the new formats, by excepting the decoded PCM from the player via HDMI or analogue. it just doesn't decode the bitstream from the player. But remember wether PCM or bitstream the sound is identical. A worthy upgrade you may want to do is upgrade the HDMI in the...
If the Denon BluRay player does the decoding internally, then just connect to you AVR via HDMI and send the PCM to the receiver to decode. Its bit for bit the same as passing the bitstream from the player to AVR.
I just feel like laughing at Sony et al for producing an overpriced, confusing format. At the same time crying that I may in the end get stuck with watching my HiDef on cable because BluRay will never take off the way it could have. The selection of titles available just doesn't make it worth...
I'd like to see it as well. All I see is new releases coming out with a low price the first day and the BR $10+ more. As an avid DVD buyer before HD, my purchases have tailed of considerably because of the high prices. Only HDDvd are of interest to me because off the low prices.
I think he reason Blu-Ray may not become mainstream is: 1. Profiles. How many chances does it take to get it right? 2. Price of hardware for the Blu-Ray players other than PS3. Upconverting players are just that much cheaper, and not everyone wants a PS3 as their entertainment hub. 3. Price...
The way I see: 1) J6P's who can't afford getting into Blu-Ray, but have just purchased an HDTV and may think that this will be a great/cheaper alternative to Blu-Ray. Since most upconverting players are easily $150+ cheaper than BR players this would be an easier sell. Not to mention you get...
