Been a while but was wandering if a hdmi switching reciever has to be on to work. What I am asking is, if I want to watch dtv with hdmi cable hooked up, will the reciever have to be on for the audio and or video to work? The reciever is a jvc rxd-412. No big deal for me, but is for the wife.

Hi Edward. I had the xr-45 and a technics receiver and both were just like you said. The fronts can not be adjusted, just the center, rears and subwoofer. I guess the fronts are pre set and all the others can be set to match the fronts. Why, I don't know.
