Anyone else heard about this? From Variety: "This came in Monday. The lawyers have spoken and Tartan USA has been closed. NOTICE OF PUBLIC FORECLOSURE SALE On May 19, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Greenberg Glusker, LLP, 1900 Ave. of the Stars, Ste. 2100, Los Angeles, CA 90067, Palisades Media...
BTW -- Just in case anyone here doesn't know: Intrada Records has just released a brand new, remastered and complete CD of Basil Poledouris' score for RED DAWN. This is something of a special occassion for Intrada since the original release was the very first soundtrack they ever produced...
I might agree if this was Saving Private Ryan or some other serious (read: remotely realistic or believable) drama but Red Dawn is so over-the-top with corny Reagan-era jingoistic camp that it's impossible for me to be offended. Looking at it now you'd swear it was intended as comedy. This...
Or perhaps the "Your Worst F***ing Nightmare Edition". Or maybe the "Gettin' Some Trim Edition"? More: Gets Hard When the Wind Blows Edition Experience My Bulls**t Edition Put Down and Kept Down Edition Too F***ing Stupid to Have a Job Edition
Yes, the new Double Feature disc is anamorphic but there are no extras whatsoever on either film. Strictly bare-bones. Not a biggie to me but some may balk. Buyer beware.
Crap! Is this true? :frowning: I've been wondering why their website hasn't been updated in ages. I hope it's not so, as they've been one of the best friends us grindhouse geeks have ever had... ...and I want that Stendhal Syndrome release!
Sorry if this has been asked before, but... Has Universal abandoned it's "Universal Noir Collection"? We got CRISS-CROSS, THIS GUN FOR HIRE, THE BIG CLOCK, and BLACK ANGEL then......nada. :frowning:
Just wondering: Wasn't this originally going to be called the "We've Got Bush Edition"? I'd have loved to have seen that on store shelves. ;) Someone at Fox must have finally spoken up and clued the marketing department in on what exactly "We've got bush" actually means... Makes me giggle...
Looks awesome so far! Please keep us posted about when this will be available. :) P.S. Turns out the Target ad is incorrect -- there is no free third disc. They're offering a copy of the book Bond on Set when you buy CASINO ROYALE. Oh well...
Well...let's see (from studios currently supporting HD-DVD): Alexander Altered States Amadeus The Andromeda Strain Another 48 Hrs. Apocalypse Now Back to the Future Trilogy Badlands Barry Lyndon Batman Batman Returns Beverly Hills Cop 1 & 2 The Big Sleep The Black Dahlia Blade...
I was going to get the A2 until I heard about the delay. Now, with the extra time to order, I've just decided to bite the bullet and go for the Big Cheez: The HD-XA2. It'll be my first HD player of any sort, so I figure I'll go for the one with all the bells and whistles. I've been wanting to...
I'm going to be getting a new TV soon (Samsung 61" HL-S6188W RP HDTV) and my brother's telling me that, in addition to the surge protector/UPS I already have my stuff hooked to (Monster UPS 500), I should invest in a power conditioner. Now, I understand what the purpose of such a device is but...
That's what I was afraid of. Best Buy lists the set on its website (for $3,999) but I haven't been able to find a B&M store that has one you can actually look at. Anyway, the regular DLP sets already look amazing to my eyes so I can't see how they could be improved much more. After watching...
I'm a definite newbie to HDTV, so I need some advice. I'm planning to upgrade from my 32" Sony Vega CRT to some kind of HDTV after the end of the year. I've been checking out what's available and am leaning toward getting a rear-projection DLP set (I prefer something that can be moved fairly...
Count me out, too. I'm perfectly happy with the older set I already have and see no reason to double-dip unless it's to upgrade to HD. The new extras just aren't that enticing to me...
I wasn't a big fan of Jackson's LOTR trilogy (mostly because elves and dragons and hairy guys with swords bore the living crap out of me) but I really liked King Kong. I bought the 2-Disc edition and the Production Diaries and my only concern is that the extras on this extended cut aren't reruns...
Jeez...........what horrible choices to have to make! :frowning: Anyway -- Off the top o' me head: 2001: A Space Odyssey Apocalypse Now Big Trouble in Little China Close Encounters The Godfather 1 & 2 Once Upon a Time in the West Psycho Raiders of the Lost Ark Star Wars (Original...
I would LOVE to have this series on DVD. TFTDS was my absolute favorite show growing up. My parents actually used to let me stay up past my bedtime to watch it on Friday (or was it Saturday?) nights. Great nostalgic value, if nothing else... :)
Whoever is responsible for any (or all) of the below covers should be fired immediately and never again be allowed near a computer running Photoshop. My god, this stuff wouldn't be acceptable in a first-year junior-high graphic design class! Ugh. Pathetic. :frowning:
The short answer: Familiarity breeds contempt. This seems to be the way of things with games that are ported over from another platform after a substantial amount of time. I guess the reviewer(s) spent too much time playing the PS2 (or whatever) version and the novelty factor has worn off...
Kevin, I'd go ahead and grab the PC version. Your computer specs are more than adequate and you will be glad you did. I was introduced to the GTA franchise with GTA III on PC and it was a BLAST. I was actually afraid to go from the PC version to the Xbox version when it came out because...
Spent about 4 hours last night playing around, just exploring and doing the first few missions to get the haircut and food availability going. All I can say is WOW. Just the beginning (Los Santos) section alone is as big, if not BIGGER, than the entirety of Vice City. Unreal. The paper map...
