My wife and I are thinking of getting a gamecube for our daughter this year. Does anyone out there have a child this age with a gamecube? What games are geared towards the skills of this age group (if any)???
Ordered on the 7th and received today:D, I have never been so happy to see a UPS man. Spent the rest of the day setting it up and tweaking the settings. I've already converted my mother-in-law, who lives with us, to a Denon fan by popping in her Cher DVD for a couple of songs. When my wife gets...
Mine shipped out last night, but did anyone notice the weight: 45.3 lbs according to the UPS tracking site. According to Denon's website the 3803 weighs 36.5 lbs and the 4802r weighs 45.2 lbs. Do you think the box weighs 8.8 lbs? is it an estimated weight? or is there something else adding the...
I just bought one also. I couldn't justify $1000 for a receiver and was thinking about settling for the 2803 or not upgrading at all, but for this price I couldn't help but buy one :D . I made the order over the phone (played dumb about the free upgrade) and was told they were expecting more...
The more I look the more I like the Denon but can't decide between the 2803 and 3803. I'm having a hard time with the price on the 3803 but like the extra power and features.
I went and heard a Denon 3803 today so now I'm leaning towards the 2803 or maybe just save some more for the 3803. The 7ch stereo was great, it has the upconversion for video and I could use the second zone option for other rooms in the house instead of going 7.1. Any reasons not to go with...
I am nearing the end of construction on a new house and looking to upgrade my home theater. The living room is 22 x 19 and shares an open area with a 11 x 13 kitchen, 11 x 11 nook and 8 x 8 entry and the area has a cathedral ceiling. The receiver will be powering a velodyne cht-12 sub, infinity...
I've been researching on the forum about speaker wire for a house under construction and came across a link to this article about speaker wire http://home.earthlink.net/~rogerr7/wire.htm . I noticed at the bottom a problem that was noted with the Home Depo wire corroding after 6 months and...
Have you considered the s500 series from Hitachi, they just came out this month and most stores do not have them on the floor yet but my father just got one thru Sears. I used to be a Sony man but lately I've liked the Hitachi alot more and I'm planning on getting one in the next few months myself.
My father just received the Hitachi 51s500 yesterday. I've been at his house today setting it up and running thru the Avia DVD and it looks great so far. He has Adelphia digital cable with a lousy signal and I think the TV does a great job considering the source. DVD looks AWESOME in progressive...
I finally got my father to get rid of his 15 year old Toshiba and he just received the Hitachi 51s500 yesterday. I've been at his house today setting it up and running thru the Avia DVD and it looks great so far. He has Adelphia digital cable with a lousy signal and I think the TV does a great...
How does it sound compared to a regular tuner. I have been thinking about getting XM for the house and love the look and function of the PCR but my stereo is in the other room which is where most of the listening would be. If they made XM available on Directv or combined with Tivo so I could use...
I have the hd 570s and think they are great. I use them at work for hours at a time on a computer and cassette recorder without any problems. I also use them at home with a receiver for movies, music and games. They are $100 at J & R music.
I liked the CHT-12 better than the Polk so I bought it. I don't see how it could be underpowered though it shakes my whole house. Mine sounded O.K. at first (behind the couch) but after being properly placed (in the corner) it was Awesome. I also got a Monster Cable which helped alot.
I had a JBL 10" down firing sub(can't remember the model #) for 3 years before it fried. The sub was O.K. but didn't quite do it for me. I replaced it with the Velodyne CHT 12 and have not regretted it yet. My mother-in-law who lives next door said it rattled her dishes. I say go with...
First a few questions: what size is the room? What is your budget? and what are your listening habits?
I had an older jbl 10" sub which I thought sounded O.K. It wasn't as attention getting as I was looking for but it was in my budget. I recently upgraded to a velodyne cht-12 and OH MY...
I started out with the atari and was the master of trick moves in tank. Then we traided up for the vic 20 then the commodore 64, I became the master of congo bongo. When I got into my teens I bought a Lazer computer from sears, talk about being a techno geek, 12 mhz of blazing speed playing...
I made the rounds Friday to check out the displays with no crowds because the kids where in school. TRU had NFL Fever and Luigi set up. I found it interesting that Luigi played like a PC game, search for a key to open a room to look for the next item, I got bored after 2 minutes and moved on...
I just wanted to note that the internet store is doing a great job. A few days after the WTC tragedy I bought a pair of Sennheiser HD-570 headphones from them, not only was their price the best but even with all the chaos they were delivered in 3 days as promised. J & R has never let me down...
They would be used for the computer, music, and movies. I was looking at the Sony mdr-v600 and thought they were ok but wanted to know what everyone else was using.
The DB line uses some of the components from the ES line and looks more like an ES. As for price I got the DB-940 about a year ago for $399 shipped, if you call J&R you can usually talk them down if they want to make a sale, or you should be able to talk them down another $50 from that for the...
The Infinity HTS10 system can be found at Circuit city for $499 w/8" sub and 5 speakers and sounds great i bought 2 sets 1 for my mother-in-law (yes we get along) and 1 for my father. Then the is the JBL NSP1 5 speaker system for $450 at Best Buy consisting of 4 n-24 speakers w/brackets and a...
