I am really, really disappointed by this. One of my favourite movies of the 80's. I guess it really makes it easy for me then - couldn't decide what to pick up this week. Will now be buying Pretty in Pink and Some Kind of Wonderful (another of my 80's favourites). Better check that they...
Yep, I would definitely have been buying this too - one of my favourite high school movies alongside Heathers.
What a shame - been waiting for it - no way am I going to buy Pan & Scam. :frowning:

Excellent news - I already have the Alliance Special Edition of Pulp Fiction but I will be more than happy to retire that copy.
Also have the Japanese version of Jackie Brown which is excellent quality but contains very few extras.
I will definitely be buying these two SE's - just hope the...
You think that's bad - i still can't get all that glue off and I won myself a portion of small fries from any participating Burger King in Canada...
That'll do me a world of good in Scotland!!

I would also highly recommend True Romance, Shallow Grave, LA Confidential and the Shawshank Redemption.
Would also add:
Leon (aka The Professional), Trainspotting and Man Bites Dog (if it ever gets a DVD release).

Well said William - I am not a huge Durst fan myself but I like Limp Bizkit and have been hoping for a DVD release for some time.
Music is all about taste - I am not telling anybody on here that they should like Limp Bizkit - so why are you telling me that I should like Floyd, Tool or Satriani...

"we're gonna put out a dvd for christmas called LIMP REMIZKIT. the dvd will have all the ill home footage from the beginning till now, all the videos, new remix versions of the videos, never seen takes from the videos...
The price of the Region 2 Simpsons Season 1 DVD is pretty rediculous - I have seen it for £30 ($45) but Virgin etc are selling it for £35 ($51).
And they wonder why I buy Region 1 for £17 ($26)
Here's hoping the Region 1 price stays relatively low.

Excellent thread guys.
I agree with the most people here that the WTC should be left in all the movies it appears in for the reasons outlined very eloquently by those before me on this thread.

Yeah, it is just saying that it is the first Star Wars movie to be released on DVD. Of course all the rest are coming... maybe next year we'll get another (my personal feeling) or then again maybe 2006.
Methinks George is releasing the Ep 1 DVD to drum up funds for the completion of Ep 2...
There was supposed to be an update by Josh Sabarra (sp?) at Warner when he returned from the Wonka DVD Event in New York on 4 September.
Maybe somebody should contact him?
I aint ordering until I find out the answer.

I have both the Trimark and Warner versions of this DVD - one of my favourite movies. I doubt very much if the UK Region 2 of this title will be uncut. I guess you may never know though - quite often movies are left alone by the BBFC but you find that the studios have already cut them to...
Both the SE and the original Armageddon DVDs in the UK (R2) are anamorphic. I owned the original for a while but thought the picture improvement didn't justify keeping it after I bought the Criterion release.

Think the confusion might be because there is a Canadian (Alliance) version and a US (Columbia Tristar) version of this DVD.
Think the Canadian release date was 8/31 and the US release date is 9/4. The Canadian version is bare bones - not even a trailer (as far as I could tell in 30 secs this...
Ordered Memento from a R1 retailer in the UK. It arrived this morning and I opened it up to check out the menus before coming to work.
Was surprised to see that there didn't seem to be any extras and I had seen some listed on web sites.
I just checked out a Canadian retailer and there seems...
Originally had Blood Simple on pre-order but I cancelled it because I was worried about the quality of the release.
I already have the R2 version which is probably the worst looking DVD I have - it makes VHS look stunning.
Hope I can find some reviews of the R1 Blood Simple DVD soon to see if...
I had decided that I wasn't going to buy this but may just have changed my mind.
Guess it is time to head over to eBay to see what I can get for the original DVD.

My copy of Exit Wounds arrived at the end of last week from an online retailer and Memento shipped yesterday from the same source. Will hopefully arrive tomorrow.
Most online retailers had Exit Wounds listed for release on 31 August. Always thought there was something strange since it would...
This is very disappointing. I have been eagerly awaiting the Criterion Version of Trainspotting for ages.
Hopefully they can acquire the rights or BV will put out a decent SE.
Wouldn't mind a Criterion release of Man Bites Dog either mind you.
