The short included with The Outlaws Is Coming is Goofs and Saddles, another Curly short that I'll bet won't show up on any other Columbia Stooge DVD. For those of you looking for Stooge reference material, check out the The Three Stooges Scrapbook by Jeff Lenburg. It has a complete history...
Eric, The missing footage from the short "Three Little Beers" is the scene where Curly has been picking up other golfer's golf balls. A golfer asks the Stooges if they have seen his ball, and of course, Curly says no. Moe then knocks Curly on the head, causing Curly to shake, and all the golf...
I want to revive this topic and share my disappointment with the Columbia Three Stooges DVD's. My Wife bought me several of these for Valentine's Day. The first DVD I watched was Three Smart Saps, as it has the short Three Little Beers on it, and it is one of my favorites. Much to my dismay, I...
Steven & Jerry, Thanks for the posts. I did not realize how many times I used the word great to describe this receiver! I'm afraid that I have scared some people off by saying the top of the unit is scratched. It has a couple of light scuffs and imperfections. I know that most HTF members...
This receiver looks and sounds great. The imperfections on the top of this unit are really small and insignificant. I have pictures if anyone is interested.
OK, I'll lower the price to $800, plus shipping. The imperfections on the top of this receiver are really quite small. It is a great looking and sounding receiver!
I have a Denon 5700 for sale. A few minor scratches and imperfections on the top of this receiver are the only things keeping it from being in mint condition. I have the original remote, owners manual, power cord, and FM antenna. I do not have the original box or AM antenna. I purchased this...
Does anyone know if the Pioneer Elite VSX-49TX is being replaced by the 49TXi? I notice that some vendors no longer carry the 49TX, only the 49TXi. I have wanted the 49TX for some time now, and I should be ready to buy after the first of the year. I have no use for the new feature and additional...
I currently own a Denon 5700, and have been very happy with it and my Atlantic Technology System 350 speakers for several years now. The upgrade bug has bitten however, and I find myself wanting the features that the new receivers offer. The logical choice would be to buy either the Denon 5803...
Thanks for everyone's input. Rajee, I notice that you use an external amp with your 49TX. Do you find the internal Pioneer amps weak or unacceptable? Purchasing an external amp with my new receiver will not be possible at this time, so I'm wondering if the Pioneer is a little under powered?
Has anyone had the opportunity to compare these two receivers? I'm getting ready to upgrade from a Denon 5700, and I want to make sure I make the right decision. The Pioneer is an attractive choice as it can be found on-line for about $500 less than the Denon. On the other hand, I have been very...
Ed,
Yes, that's the one. So far, I'm able to get ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and PBS. You have to move it around to a bit to tune in the different stations, but it is working well. I watched NYPD Blue in HD Tuesday night, and it was very cool! Good luck.
John, Thanks for your suggestion. I tried the Radio Shack double bowtie antenna and it works great! I was able to watch ABC and CBS HD last night. HDTV is very cool!
Thanks John. It says that I need a small multidirectional antenna. Radio Shack Double Bowtie, or do I want to go with something mounted on the roof? Thanks again.
I live in the Cambrian Park/Los Gatos area of San Jose and am trying to find an antenna to receive OTA HD signals. The local satellite installer says I need a very expensive($500 +) roter antenna because we are about 60 miles from the transmitters in San Francisco. Any HTF members living in my...
Does anyone know if I can use my Denon 5700 as an HD component video switch? My TV, Panasonic PT-56WXF-90, has only one component video imput. I would like to connect my RP91K and my TU-HDS20 HD decoder to the TV at the same time. Thanks for your help.
Alan,
I live in the Cambrain area, very close to you. I have delayed getting an HD decoder for my HD ready TV because I'm afraid that we are so close to the Santa Cruz moutains that the OTA reception will not be good. What kind of antenna do you use, and do you have it mounted on your roof? Are...
This is great news! Add this to the sports available on Direct TV's HD Net (NHL and MLB) and things are getting very interesting in the HDTV world! My Wife actually wants me to purchase a STB now!
