I watched the Olive Films Blu-ray of the Charles Bronson film "Kinjite Forbidden Subjects" last night. The fidelity was decent for a movie from 1989 but it was definitely mono. Watching the end credits confirmed that the sound was Ultra-Stereo. My old MGM DVD is stereo so I assume the...
I've noticed that there isn't a printed Best Buy ad every week in my region of Southern California for some reason. The newspaper hasn't had them at all since probably December and the local stores don't have them either quite often anymore. I'm guessing they're trying to save money.
Should I be looking for MGM or does Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment still distribute MGM titles? I looked for contact information for MGM Home Video and found a phone number but no email address.
That's what I was afraid of. I did some snooping around online and couldn't find any place that had legitimate MOD DVD-R copies for sale. I was going to contact Ebay and let them know but I figured I'd ask first.
Had I read the listing a bit more closely, I wouldn't have bought it.
A couple of weeks ago I ordered a copy of Shag: The Movie on DVD through Ebay. When it arrived, I noticed that the artwork appeared to have been printed with an inkjet printer and the disc was a DVD-R with what appeared to be inkjet printed artwork on it. I went back to the listing on Ebay and...
Has anyone had any luck with the disc replacement program? I sent an email to Universal on June 4th and never heard anything back from them. I emailed them again, just as instructed, on Monday and so far I haven't heard anything yet.
I was just looking at my Simon & Simon season two set that was released by Shout Factory and the first disc does include the Magnum P.I. episode "Ki'Is Don't Lie" so I guess I do have it elsewhere.
The fourth disc of the original Magnum P.I. season one set also included "Echoes of the Mind"...
I bought Magnum P.I. - The Complete Series at Costco yesterday for $75. I figured I'd pick it up to replace the the original DVDs that I bought as they were released several years ago since the new discs are single sided and the packaging is more compact.
Well... I tried to locate the Magnum /...
This is a post from what I see people referring to as the "other forum" made by ditcin:
I have the image Laserdisc and the surround mix that is encoded on the 2.0 PCM audio track sounds deliberate. If it was done after the fact, it was done very well. I have read in multiple places however that...
Nope. I received my copy today and Meteor is DTS-HD MA 2.0 mono. That is the only audio track that is included on the disc. I was really hoping to at least get the same 2.0 stereo track from the Laserdisc.
My Blu-ray copy of Meteor arrived today and I just popped it the player. The audio is DTS-HD MA 2.0 mono. I knew I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up. Looks like I have to keep my Laserdisc still. It's the only place that I know of that includes Dolby surround encoded 2.0 audio in PCM format...
Get well soon Mike.I think I'll pick up Big Bang Theory season 7 and get Godzilla 3D for $14.99 at Best Buy this week.
I preordered Meteor on Blu-ray several weeks ago. I'm hoping we get more than a mono soundtrack this time around. I guess we'll see.
I currently have 6 remotes: Hitachi TV, Onkyo receiver, Panasonic Blu-ray, Toshiba HD-DVD, HTPC, and a Roku. The Harmony Ultimate would replace them all if it's compatible.
It's kind of hard to limit the list to just five but here we go...1. Miami Vice
2. Simon & Simon
3. Magnum P.I.4. The Fall Guy
5. Hunter
There are others that I really liked back then too. I can't forget shows like Riptide, Hardcastle & McCormick, Knight Rider, The A-Team, Family Ties, Newhart...
Thank you for the roundup Adam. It's something I kind of look forward to every Saturday night. I'm wishing Mike and his family the best and hopefully he gets well soon.
Is there some reason that Take Me Home Tonight is being re-released? It appears to have new cover artwork but is there anything else that's different? It's not the greatest movie by any means but I enjoyed it.
Finally... a normal looking consumer speaker line from JBL. Some of their more recent designs have been rather weird looking. I'm anxious to hear what these sound like.
Oh... and I'm already a member of the Disney Rewards program. I think I signed up a couple of years ago for a coupon or something. I haven't really used it though.
I was just making sure that the deal was still valid. I didn't realize that there were two versions of the 2D Blu-ray and bought the wrong one yesterday. I guess I'll have to pick up the right one and take advantage of the offer.
I just loaded the page and I can see all of the images.Boy... I'm glad that I ordered Body Double a couple of weeks ago. It's apparently sold out already. It arrived in the mail yesterday with a broken case. Oh well... I can replace that. I'm looking forward to seeing it again after 25+ years
