I have hundreds of DVDs and this set is my most played. The box is falling to pieces. Anyone who does not already have this set cannot go wrong with this purchase. The writing, the acting, the production, a well as the true history it represents simply can't be beat!
Season Two is on its way from Amazon and just in time. I have only one more episode to watch from Season One. My family and I have been watching a few episodes a week. The quality of the show in terms of writing, acting, and production is as good as I remeber from the 1960's.
Well, I've picked up all four -- three at 25% off from Amazon and the last at Costco. It would appear that Spacecraft films has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with Fox. So Spacecraft films must stop its own retail sales when Fox releases its versions. These are great discs...
Spacecraft Films has a new distributor. The discs are being re-released on Tuesday and they are up for pre-order at 25% off at amazon.com:
Apollo 11 Discs at 25% off
I've now taken a look at the CAPalert website. It is clearly created by conservative Christians for conservative Christians. I see nothing wrong with this. If you're a "South Park" devotee, I don't think you'll find this site helpful. But understand and respect the fact that others may.
Thank you for the suggestions. I am already familiar with those sites. They are very helpful and I recommend them to others. "PG-13" movies are the most difficult for me as a parent. Some are relatively innocuous. Others will burn your eyelashes off.
When it comes to kids, parent's have different standards. I don't accept any review site's methodology -- but I do appreciate the information. I then make my own judgment. I wouldn't get bent out of shape by a girl in a bikini, but someone else might. Most "PG-13" moves, because of sex...
I also finally finished the last episode. This was my first viewing. I have been interested in and read about World War II for many years. I read the book version of the series a few years ago. I was a little disappointed by the BOB series. I agree with other posters that a little narrative...
Best Buy for $79.99 plus tax with the freebie disc.
I don't have HBO and I've been waiting for this set ever since BOB was first announced. I wanted it now!
I watched the returns last night (:D ) so I haven't started the series yet.
Thanks to this thread, I ordered "Blimp." I watched it last night. Wonderful characters, beautiful production, great acting. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Brad Nilsson
This is a definite must buy. There is a DVD of the recording sessions for the new musical, but a movie version of the whole musical (and eventially a DVD) would be great. Brad
Christoper: Thanks for the link. Dave: The answer is yes. The EVA is a new compliation of (1) 16 mm, (2) video, (3) audio, and (4) still photos, all sync'ed together. The Powered Descent section, according to the introduction, had to be pieced together from several different sources. It also...
If you love your "Apollo 13," if your copy of "From the Earth to the Moon" is in tatters, here's the real thing!
Apogee Books has been releasing original NASA mission reports for all the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo missions. Previously, the books have come with CD-ROMs with supplemental...
For an interesting discussion of how dragons would fare against real military weaponry, take a look at USS Clueless.
BTW, I thought the movie was, at best, a "C" "B" movie.

I will miss 800.com. I have ordered a lot of stuff from them and have been using them since mid 1999. Prices o.k., service good, no sales tax and quick delivery to California.
I'm add myself to the list of "old fogies." I loved First Men in the Moon as a kid and would also love to see Robinson Crusoe on Mars on DVD. I'll buy almost any "classic" Sci-Fi movie (by "classic", I mean anything pre-"2001 ASO"). Now, I watch these great old Sci-Fi movies with my kids and...
The case is nice. I watched the first three episodes with my kids last night. I hadn't seen these episodes since 1974. My fond recollection was not disappointed. Good Ape stuff!
O.K., I bit. 800.com had it for an excellent pre-order price. I'm going on a 30 year old memory of this series, but I loved it as a kid.
Come on, guys, are you Apes fans or what?!?!

I finally watched the new DVD last night with my family. On my Mitsu 55" the print looked pretty bad, lots of blemishes and grain. It was watchable, though, and the colors were good.
This is not a "reference quality" disc. But the story and George Pal effects are still great. If you love...
I'm surprised there hasn't been more "buzz" over this classic title. I couldn't find a review anywhere.
I also picked it up at Borders yesterday. I'm looking forward to watching it tomorrow night (I think I fall for the Enterprise thing myself tonight!)
