All we can really do is speculate as to the "5" being Cylons or not. They believe they are Cylons, but all of the evidence we have seen is sort of contrary to that. - Anders got sick, death bed sick, on New Caprica. Certainly not a very Cylon thing to do. - Tyrel's been sick and his recovery...
Any time you buy a new TiVo, it is a new subscription, no? Although the mentality of corporate America emphasizes "new customers" over keeping existing customers.
I don't think it will only show content purchased from the iTunes store, as the iPod can play lots of content not purchased. The only key is the iTunes application must "manage" the media as it is the element that is providing the sync support. I have to admit that I'm a bit underwhelmed by...
Anytime you have multiple things to focus on a single point, you'll possibly need to converge. Typically, DLP is sourced from a single chip and many LCDs as well. In the case of a single chip/screen, there is no need to "converge" separate entities onto a single point. However, one could...
I believe they're updating the site. Frankly, DVDFile.com has sort of lost its purpose since Peter left. Actually one might even argue that it jumped when Cliff S. quit doing reviews. My favorite bits of DVDFile.com were the cutting sarcasm toward the studios and whomever DVDFile thought...
It must be pretty violet. I've dropped my iPod from desktop to ground and it never missed a beat. I suppose karate or boxing is probably out, but I would imagine running and the like isn't too violent :D On the price issue... If you want something cheap, buy something cheap: if you want...
If it doesn't bother you while you're watching a movie, it probably isn't worth the bother to fix. The convergence tweaks probably contributed to the slight distortion. Brian G.
Which of the up-convert DVD players will send a 1080i signal (or 720p) out the component outs? My Toshiba doesn't have DVI inputs, but it in theory it seems that having a good upconverter on the DVD player may improve PQ. Brian G.
Media Play (owned by Best Buy) has a great selection of SACD and DVD-A intermixed in a common rack. In fact many of Media Play's prices are better than Best Buy's prices. Brian P.S. Media Play doesn't have a loss leader policy on media their corporate parent. In other words BB tries to...
As a ReplayTV owner I would recommend Tivo for one reason... ReplayTV seems to be a dead company. Any call/e-mail to them goes unanswered (I don't have time to spend 2+ hours on hold). I like my ReplayTV, but I think the company needs to be purchased by someone who has some money. Brian G.
Sound a little bit like my problem.
See http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htfo...ighlight=40h80 for details.
I finally did get my TV back. Maybe you'll have better luck.
Brian G.
Very well written article. I think that Pixar's "look" of their films is an intentional artistic effect and that they could be photo-realistic if they needed to be. By riding the edge of being photo-realistic, they don't get into "style" troubles as you conjecture that PDI did in Shrek...
Why don't we get an Enya yet on DVD-A? Enya's overstylized layered vocals and electronic gizmo music (I do like the music, but that just happens to be the best description) seem like the perfect match for a 5.1 mix. And isn't her label EMI which is Warner right? Brian G.
So I finally get a progressive scan DVD player for my 40H80 and immediatly noticed that the picture was very low (not vertically centered) on 2.35:1 movies. How do I correct this? Is this the DVD player (RP56) or is it the TV? Thanks, Brian G.
My local cable company had it wrong too and FX had the + and - of one channel reversed. I called the Cable company and they said it was the local fox affiliates problem who said it was cable's problem. I finally got an engineer at the affiliate and told him that I verified against OTA and...
Not only were many of the story and acting elements very good, the set design was pretty cool. For example, the stairway of the apartment always looked like a DNA strand.
I find that female singer/songwriters are much more musical than male counterparts. It could also be that I tend to like more relaxing music when I listen to music and women tend to not get to stressful (except for a couple).
I just wanted to add a couple that nobody has mentioned (at least...
