Yes, I was just thinking last night about the lack of a blu-ray release of this title. Such a good, entertaining film. And there's apparently a lot more footage out there that wasn't included in the extended cut. This is mentioned in an extensive interview with Kurt Russell about the film and...
Hello all---
I could have sworn that I saw something about there being a newly discovered and restored Oswald short included with this new release.
Did I imagine that?

Hello all---
DMA is Disney’s online streaming service. As a lifelong fan of Disney, I greatly resent these kinds of promotional gimmicks. I prefer to watch my movies at home on blu-ray, but I also appreciate the fact that Disney blu-rays come with a code to download an iTunes-friendly...
Hello all---
Since I missed several of the DVD sets, I'd love a chance to get them on blu-ray. And I would repurchase several of the others, like Davy Crockett, Disneyland, USA, Behind the Scenes at the Walt Disney Studios, Disneyland: Secrets, Stories, and Magic, Oswald, etc.
All in all...
I agree.
But I would also say that the supposed "men are dumb" joke is really a "men are distracted" or "men have a one-track mind" joke, which, whether you like the gag or not (I thought it was hilarious), is true of most men in that situation. You've just made a big career move. You're...
You know, when I saw Lindelof's name attached, I worried about how he might influence the film. And honestly, I wonder if he's responsible for its flaws.
But, ultimately, it's Brad Bird's film. He's the director, the co-writer, and the co-producer, so the buck stops with him.
And I think...
I saw it Friday night with the family. It was good. Not perfect, but good. But then again, many of my favorite movies aren't perfect examples of film making.
In the spirit of the movie's theme of positive thought and action... (This contains a few mild spoilers...)
I loved the Giachinno cameo...
Okay, I saw the movie on Friday night, and I'll share some thoughts later. But I think this story really says it all:

I've lowered my expectations somewhat.
But then, I've met few critics whose taste falls perfectly in line with my own. Too often, they focus on what THEY wanted a film to be rather than what it is.
And I'm somewhat encouraged---cautiously optimistic, even---by Leonard Maltin's review. He...
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I'm a big fan of his work...at least, SOME of his work, since I'm not familiar with all of it. The UP score is my all-time favorite film soundtrack, but I confess I haven't heard the JUPITER ASCENDING one. Had no interest whatsoever in that movie based on the...
So, I noticed on Brad Bird's Twitter feed that the score is available on iTunes starting today.

Anyone heard it yet? I was holding out for the physical release in a few weeks, but I'm not sure I can wait that long.

Hello all---
In case anyone else is interested, Disney is apparently offering a sneak peak at the movie at Disneyland, and a lot of concept art and props are being displayed.
There are some decent photos here [you have to scroll down a bit]...
Hello all---
First, a disclaimer: I searched, fully expecting to find an existing thread about Brad Bird's upcoming film, TOMORROWLAND, but came up empty-handed. The shame...! The horror...!
Seriously, I'm surprised that no one is talking about this movie. I've seen it mentioned briefly...
Well, I, for one, am really looking forward to INSIDE OUT.
A lot of fans are jaded after CARS 2 and BRAVE and MONSTERS UNIVERSITY. Even though I agree that those films aren't as good as Pixar's best, there is still a lot to love about each of them [yes, even CARS 2].
I loved the INSIDE OUT...
Hello all---
I absolutely agree about THE GOLDBERGS. Very entertaining show with a great cast.
So...why is it apparently NOT available on blu-ray? I'd buy the blu-ray immediately...but it looks like there isn't one.
Regards,
matt
Hello all---
I bought this release, and though I was quite disappointed in the sparse bonus features, the ones that are present are outstanding. "The Walt Disney Studios: From Poppins to the Present" is a fantastic tour of Walt's Burbank studios that includes a number of "before and after"...
Hello all---
I'm curious if the 3D Blu-Ray Combo of this title is hard to find in any other parts of the US. I live outside of Houston, and I've been to one Best Buy, two Wal-Marts, and a local Target, and none of them have any stock. They all have shelf space and signage, but no 3D Combo...
First, as I stated previously, I’m not talking about the film getting awards “on any level.” I’m talking about Thompson’s performance.
I can certainly admit that Streep's comments aren't solely responsible for Thompson not getting a nomination. As I noted in my post that, as much as I liked...
Hello all---
The film isn’t about Walt Disney’s life. In fact, if you get right down to it, SAVING MR. BANKS isn’t really Walt’s movie at all. It’s PL Travers’ story. After all, we don’t see flashbacks of Walt’s tough childhood. Sure, “Walt Disney” [the character, not the man] plays a big...
Hello all---
I’ve been a huge Disney fan nearly all my life, so when I heard about SAVING MR. BANKS, my first worry was that it wouldn’t follow the true story. I wondered how Disney would take what was essentially an un-happy ending [PL Travers attended the MARY POPPINS premiere, then...
Hello all---
I'm not sure that this thread is the appropriate place to mention it, but since we were already discussing it...
This week, Target is carrying an exclusive version of the HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PARTS 1 & 2 Ultimate Edition. I've seen it at two different Target stores...
Hello all---
Thanks for the review and information.
Does anyone know if a separate set including the BR original trilogy will be released? I bought the 2-disc BR version of SKULL when it was released, so I have no use for that one.
Thanks,
matt
Hello all---
I wouldn't say we're top-tier fans, but my son and I are definitely fans of the books and films, and we were holding off on buying the films on home video because I knew they'd release some sort of comprehensive box at some point.
Anyway, I guess I'm a little disappointed with the...
Hello all---
I, too, own the two previous DVD versions of TTYD!, but it's one of the few films I'd consider triple-dipping for...! It's a great little film. Steve Zahn is hilarious in it. Hanks wrote and directed it with care. He's obviously a big music fan, and it shows through on-screen...
Hello all--- I don't think there's been any mention of a US home video release. According to Amazon.co.uk, the track list for the bonus CD that comes with the deluxe Blu-Ray includes the following songs: 1. My Sweet Lord (demo) 3:33 2. Run Of The Mill (demo) 1:56 3. I'd Have You Any Time (early...
Hello all--- The trailer was posted on the George Harrison website today. http://www.georgeharrison.com/ Still no mention of a US DVD/BR release, but the UK Amazon site lists a few of the bonus features [it does NOT list the song titles on the bonus CD of unreleased music, though]...
