"To put it another way, it's less than half of what they drew for the finale two years ago. It's 6.1 million less viewers than last year. Plus the got smoked in the demo to BBT.
Also, this is the first post about the finale in this thread. Is it safe to say the show is all but dead?"
Really...
Not that it really matters, or that it means I know any more. But I'm a trained musician, started taking piano lessons at the age of 6 and still play to this day (42). I sing and have performed countless times... but I know my own talent level and know that I don't/didn't have the chops to make...
Some people are saying the light went out. I did not see that, even after watching it a few times. I saw it become shaded as the Smoke Monster emerged, but I don't think we can say with utter clarity that "it went out". Also, just a point, trying not to stray to far from the topic at hand...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe I am. The MIB that we knew now, in the future... who is now in the form of Locke, is NOT the young MIB boy who grew into a man, but some "other worldy" evil of some sort from the depths of the island. The real MIB died, just like the real Locke died...
And shouldn't the fact that there is gobs more competition firing against it (from other films, to TV, to internet, etc) factor into what counts as a success?
I think it's of great significance the different ways the O6, along with Locke, and Ben got back on the island. The O6 "flashed" onto the island. The other occupants on the plane saw it happen. Ben "crashed" like a normal person on the island, like the other occupants of the plane. To me that...
"What would the result have been if the 6 who left had decided to stay instead? Would the island still be jumping through time or would it have only moved to a single specific alternate location and/or time?" Don't forget... Ben thought they (the Oceanic6-to-be) were all dead. He killed the...
Ok, I've seen a couple of posts asking why the island is skipping around... this is my explanation of it.... The island is "shuddering" through time, "skipping like a record" because the "rules" have been broken... THE 6 LEFT THE ISLAND. The rules are fast and firm, as the doctor told us down...
That movie {Titanic}, for whatever unfathomable reason, appealed to a wide ranging demographic, not just females and teenagers. Exactly. I think the thing that made Titanic...er... titanic, was that everyone went to see it. From ages 8 to 88... and older. It appealed greatly to those over...
I've just got around to watching the season 4 premiere. Excellent... been missing Lost. Also, because of the fact I hadn't watched the premiere yet, I hadn't read any of this thread yet... so I started perusing it tonight. This video was originally posted TonyD. It backs up a theory...
Very interesting Francois! I had seen this application and wondered "who the heck is this and what the heck is he doing?!" I will be watching your startup with interest as well and will most likely be submitting some programming and maybe even purchasing some ad time :) ... and like one said...
Ok... mark it on your calendars, I'm making my prediction public :) . I've thought this almost from the beginning. I've told my friends I watch Lost with and they haven't believed me but scorned me and laughed at me, but they are slowly coming around :) ... and tonights episode helped convince...
"it's interesting in this episode to finally find out the Others did NOT put the Losties on the plane" That's the second person that said that in this thread and it's not entirely true, it's an assumption. My assumptions from the episode are slightly different. Ben specifically mentioned to...
If you're just going to slap an electronic keyboard in the the shell of your old upright, why not just buy a new upright?? Anyways, that said, I've been playing piano since I was in grade 1. There is no electronic keyboard that is the same as a real piano... that said as well... I have an...
I agree with you 100% Marc. I loved Chris at the beginning too... then he got all "angry" and "arrogant" and he totally lost what I had originally liked about him. Josh made me laugh everytime he was up there, that along with the fact that he often used a few brand new jokes based on things...
That duet with Meatloaf was absolutely incredibly horrible. It was embarassed watching Meatloaf sing. Agonizing. Katherine was the only saving grace, she was great, and at least brought the song back into key when she sang. Who was the moron who thought of sticking them together? Am I crazy...
I figured out what the "heir apparent" was for! On the Hanso Foundation website... go to Executive Bios and click on Dr. Thomas Mittelwerk. There is a text body hovering over one of the paragraphs, type it in there. :)
Loved the return of Alias and thought the shows were solid. I would LOVE the last scene of the last show of Alias to be something in the way of.. Weiss being sent on an undercover mission as an Oceanic airlines pilot who has to fly a commercial flight back from Australia for some reason. Now...
Mark my words... it will soon be deemed 'illegal' to purchase a CD and listen to it. You will only be allowed to look at the CD packaging, and then only if you are by yourself in an approved viewing booth after signing the EULA and accompanying release form.
If all you're worried about is revenue then you're in business for cash-flow only, and cash-flow only sales will ultimately sink you. The number one worry has to be profitability. If profits are up, then it's a good year. Hollywood has a lot of fat it can slice to raise it's profitability. A...
Revenues mean very little. Does anyone have the profit figures for this year compared to the last few? That's the acid test. For instance, my own business... my revenues are down this year about 10% but my profits are up almost 25%. Am I disappointed? No!
I don't see how anybody could think that the people on the boat aren't 'the Others'. They wanted the kid, they made the smoke, they took the kid. Pretty simple in my mind, but maybe that's cuz I have a simple mind. It's a huge stretch to NOT assume these people were, at least part of, 'the...
