My buddy and I both sold our houses in San Jose, CA last year using Help-U-Sell. When you use Help-U-Sell, you still have a realtor helping you. My realtor did everything that a "full service" realtor would have done except host the Open House, which my wife and I did. He took care of the MLS...
I think that Jennifer Sieminski is just a little bitter. She's just like all of the others that think they're the best and get pissed off when they don't make it.
I don't get to this site much anymore but I was surprised to see the beer thread hadn't been posted to in so long. I just wanted to pass along a new (for me) beer that I tried tonight. It's Biere de Mars from New Belgium Brewing. I like Fat Tire so I figured this should be good also and it...
At least they told you that there was a 3 year commitment. When I moved into a house 2 years ago and activated the alarm system (I had ADT on my previous house) they never told me about the commitment but it was in the fine print on the back of the sheet that I signed. I didn't know...
Brad, I don't think that I'm going to make it this year. I've got a new daughter due Aug 23rd and way too many other things going on right now. Unfortunately it looks like this will be my first football season without at least one fantasy team in the last 15 years. :frowning:
Timmy - I came to the same conclusion as you when I was looking for a new TV. I was going to buy a DLP set, most likely a Samsung, until I saw the Sony. For me it was an easy decision to make since I also really like the Sony cabinet. I've had my 55XS955 for a little over a month and I couldn't...
I decided to try Vonage and have had it for a little over a month. No problems at all so far and I'm very happy with it. I'm getting rid of my land based line in a few days since it's no longer needed.
Any TV that has a piece of plexiglass over the screen will have reflections. They may call it an anti-reflective screen but IMO all it does is cause reflections.
Yes, the XBR is always the top of the line for Sony. However, I believe that the XS955 is a newer model than the current XBR. I could be mistaken on that though. The main thing that I didn't like about the XBR is the reflective screen. I have tons of ambient light in my room and a reflective...
Most likely you won't notice the difference between 720p and 768p. Have you looked at the 60XS955? I actually like it better than the XBR because the XBR has the reflective screen.
Sorry, but there's no plexiglass on the XS955. The screen isn't reflective at all. That's one of the things that I love about my 55XS955 since I have a lot of ambient light in my room. The XBR does have the plexiglass. The XS955 was worth it to me because of the 2nd HDMI input and the...
Despite what some of you seem to think, some warranties do cover replacement bulbs. I have a Circuit City warranty and it does indeed cover replacement bulbs. However, like Parker said, they will send you the bulb and you will need to replace it yourself. Not a big deal to me since it's easily done.
Yes, you will have to replace the bulb in both DLP and RPLCD but I wouldn't worry about losing any color. A RPLCD should be fine for many more than the 4-5 years that you're looking at. If you're worried, just get an extended warranty. My extended warranty covers replacement bulbs and will...
MarkN - You'll be very happy with the Sony. I love mine more every day. Definitely go to CC first to see how close they'll come to the price. The CC that I went to had it listed at $3699 but on sale for $3399. Also, their extended warranty is cheaper (I paid $599 for 4 years) and they cover...
Phil - Not much at all. I printed off a couple of screen shots from reputable online dealers with prices including shipping and then took them to CC. I talked to the manager of the dept and he told me he'd sell the TV for $100 over the internet price, including taxes, delivery and setup. No...
Why not? Supposedly the consoles are sold at a loss anyway. How much do you think it costs Microsoft for a commercial spot? $2.2M is nothing and it's great advertising.
Anyone playing Guild Wars? I cancelled my WoW account a while ago because I just don't have the time for it. I'm now thinking about picking up Guild Wars since it seems like something that you can sit down and play for an hour or two and still have a lot of fun. I was in on one of the early beta...
I was looking at the exact two TVs and I don't think that you can go wrong with either, although I haven't seen that exact Samsung model in person because it wasn't in stores yet. I compared the Sony with the current Samsung DLPs and actually ended up buying a Sony KDF-55XS955. IMO the Sony had...
OK, well it seems that a lot of people don't know about the video lag and lip synch problems on the Samsung DLPs. If you plan to use it for a lot of video games, especially the PS2, I'd advise against a Samsung DLP. There is a video lag when playing games in 480i, which most of the PS2 games...
Are you asking this in respect to rear projection LCD? This is something that I had heard and read but after looking at the latest generation of sets, I believe that it no longer exists. It certainly doesn't exist on the Sony Grand Wega line which is what I have (55xs955). I just reread your...
Why do you think that DLP is what you need? As far as video games go, some of the DLP sets are known to have video lag when playing 480i games (most games available for PS2). Samsung has admitted to this problem and it's not known yet if the new HLR series fixes it or not. LCD rear projection...
