So, whenever I visit my girlfriend's parents house, I notice that their HDTV has this really obnoxious tendency of "automatically" zooming and cropping images on the screen. I put automatically in quotes because it seems to just adjust itself out of nowhere, and sometimes the digital cable info...
Is the Gary Kurtz stuff in an episode IV documentary? I remember seeing a pretty big presence of Lucas' new producer on the prequels in those making ofs--do you recommend those?
Hi everyone,
It's been a long time since I've posted anything (I actually capitalize things now, oh my!). Just had a quick question; moderators, please feel free to move this to a different forum if it doesn't fit.
I am looking for a decent making of documentary for a film that focuses more...
Is anyone else kind of peeved at some of the screen shots on the review over at DVD Beaver? It's like, Wes Anderson has gone back and "color-corrected" his first film to look overly saturated like his last 3 films (especially "Darjeeling"). I'm hoping that the stark differences between...
Hey guys, My roomate just bought a Samsung 46" LCD and I tried to set it up for him by running the THX Optimizer on one of the "Star Wars" standard DVDs (plugged in with components). I noticed that the film almost looks like it was shot by broadcast cameras. The camera movements remind me of...
Anyone have an extra optical cable sitting around? Come on, I know some of you guys don't use yours anymore because you got your fancy HDMI cables. :P oops. can a mod take the question mark off the thread title please? thanks.
i just wish that shout! would get the rights to this thing and release it ala "freaks and geeks"--i think we'd all be willing to fork over a little more in order to get all the rights to the music...i can't believe i am saying that as a college student in desperate need for a job at the...
did anyone else catch any of the pixar "easter eggs" in the film? here are just a couple that i could have sworn i caught: -the mime in the streets-was that bomb voyage from "the incredibles"? -there's a quick shot of linquini's underwear, and i saw that they were red and it looked like...
i can't record straight onto dv...and no, the glitches aren't on the tracking problems, they are sporadic and random. what do you mean by extra video stabilizers?
hey guys, i've been trying to make a present for my mother with all of her home movies she made from all her kids...i made a version of it last year, but i felt really bad because it had glitches in it that i thought i could not avoid. you see, when i would import it, it just casually...
see now i'm wondering if there's a program i can play the files on and export it into a dv tape, then import it into imovie... any ideas? by the way, thanks a lot for the input so far guys. i really appreciate it.
i just downloaded it, but i can't get it to play on imovie. i should have said this before--i'm trying to put these files on imovie, to then add them on a dvd with idvd.
i know absolutely nothing about codecs or anything. honestly, all i really know is that the file was made on a pc, and i managed to play it on a different pc, but not on my mac. what are the basic things i'm supposed to know and how do i go about fixing this?
did anyone see the teaser on the wallace and gromit dvd for the first cg aardman film? it's called flushed away and it's about rats...being flushed down the toilet. is this another bugs/antz situation we got on our hands?
if dharma and oceanic were connected...and there was a giant dharma logo on the plane itself, that kind of dismisses the whole "crash conspiracy theory" doesn't it?
yeah, but would it be able to do the animation that it does for the screen saver? or would i have to customize the animation myself with the still images?
so i finally got a mac, and, of course, i am loving it. anywho, i noticed the abstract "punch-drunk love" type screensaver, and i thought it would be a perfect menu on some personal dvds i am making for some friends. would anyone happen to know how to make mac screensavers into movie files...
you know, it's really funny that people keep mentioning the sex scene in this thread. to me, any sex scene in a spielberg movie has always been awkward to me. out of his films that i've seen, i think this is only his third movie to have a sex scene (schindler and minority report are the others)...
you know what i never understood...it is said that it was under his contract that no pictures would be released of him during the thin red line period...but why do we have that picture that's been broadcast to death? i mean, that's the image that was on screen at the oscars when they announced...
2 things: i am very happy that, for once, they showed the viewers something the castaways didn't know at the very beginning of the episode, at that! prentice, do you think that maybe that's a reason they wanted walt? or maybe why they'll be after aaron later?
it's been said that e.t. had a slipcase initially, but spielberg's last minute decision to include the theatrical cut with the release is the reason why there's no slipcase, because there were different features on the discs before (?)...or maybe it's just cause it didn't say anywhere on the box...
alex, that picture is seriously making me dream about one day having people over and having conversations about our favorite episodes and then being like "oh yeah? the one where bart loses his soul? season 7...right here..." man, i'm such a dork. haha.
i find myself defending his films just as i would defend u2 as artists. they're at an age and a period in their careers where it seems like it's no longer cool to like them, apparently. we see magazine covers touting shyamalan as "the next spielberg" (and coldplay as "the next u2")...first...
