Started building a theater in my basement several years ago that turned into a nightmare, but is nearly finished. This Denon (of which I've owned several of their AVRs over the years) would make an excellent current tech bookend to what was supposed to be an awesome experience that turned sour...
Personally, I would list it in the regular BD section. The same way that you would call out something that was multiple disc, or a CE, or whatever. It's still a BD, it just happens to be a special edition/feature one. Also, there's bound to be releases that aren't available separately, so...
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
Gillian: Don't tell me, you're from outer space.
Kirk: No, I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space.

Lt. Col. Alan Caldwell - The Presidio
Anyone who can beat you up with his thumb is ridiculous!
Here's a thread talking about the works of the film's director Peter Hyams:

The Untouchables
The whole scene in the train station.. the tension leading up to the accountant coming in. The mother with the baby carriage. That whole scene is insane. I'll pop the movie in just to watch that.
oh.. and here's a link to the thread for the review of The Untouchables on...
That seems to vary by region.. my local Target received 25 of the 3-disc versions.. or so they told me.. they had about 6 of the big boxes on the shelf when I was there.
I agree, tho, we shouldn't be nudged towards uber boxes of stuff we may not want..
Yeah.. weird eh? Detroit is about 5 hours.. You just pop up into Ontario and go straight across.. NYC would be 6 1/2 ish..
I saw the New England thing.. I'll have to inquire about it..could be further depending on where.. but totally worth asking about.. Thanks again..
Thanks George..
That would explain why Samsung doesn't even know they make the 900.. they actually suggested I call Korea to get info..
If the dealer search on dvedist.com is up to date, then the closest to me is just outside of Detroit..
Hopefully someone closer who owns one of these...
Hey all..
I'm shifting my focus from buying a new set to looking at front projectors.
I'm trying to audition the A900 (but looking at an 800 would be fine at the moment) but I can't find a dealer in my area. Samsung is not very helpful on their website or on the phone in this regard.
So...
Just as a note, keep in mind that the AVP-A1HDCI is not a receiver. It's a preamplifier. You'd need to buy an external amp (or amps) to drive your speakers. If you want an integrated receiver, the top Denon would be the AVR-5308CI(A)
Well.. thanks to those of you that gave me some feedback.. I decided all the benefits of a modern receiver would be worth the upgrade after reading your comments and poking around in some other threads.. I couldn't decide between the 4308 and the 4310.. so I did what any other respectable...
Thanks for the feedback guys.. I'm still thinking this over, of course.. I wish I understood the benefits of Audyssey and had a frame of reference for what you're talking about in that regard. Also, if I do spring for the new receiver.. it looks like the 4310 is more of a successor to the...
Hey Gene.. thanks for the quick response.. I'm using a Panasonic BD30 for my BR needs.. (I also have an HDA3 for HD-DVD.. oh the shame) Additionally, I have an Oppo DVD player, a Panasonic RP91K DVD player, a DirecTV HR20 DVR, and a Pioneer Elite CLD-79 (ah the good old days) all piping...
Hey all, I'm buying new speakers in the next couple of weeks. I currently have some old Boston Acoustics (VR20s) all the way around with a matching center and am replacing them with Paradigm Studio V.5 all the way around (60s or 100s for the fronts) which should yield a huge improvement in...
Hey all, I'm still using my old RP91K.. and I hope someone remembers how to do this, but I seem to remember there was a code you punch in on the remote to allow you to move the image on the screen (at least left and right, maybe up and down).. 4x3 content is not centered on my display...
I'd like to chime in that I check this thread every week, as well, Glen. I don't have anything useful to contribute.. so I don't post. I've scored some great deals in the past because of your efforts..
