Sorry Phil, I didn't mean to make it sound as if I didn't believe you. I was just wondering if there was any new info, since companies will sometimes claim that something isn't in the works in order to boost sales of the currently available product. -Dave
I've been looking for a RSS feed of upcoming DVD releases, but I've been coming up empty. Netflix has a feed of new releases, but not of upcoming titles. DVD Empire has feeds, but they haven't been updated in ages. Anyone know of a feed for upcoming releases? Thanks- Dave
I thought it absolutely ruined the film. I made sure to note the director's name so that I can avoid any of his future messes. I had a free ticket from the DVD & I still feel ripped off. -Dave
What's the deal with another 1:33 release? After the fantastic picture quality of Starcrossed, which was much better pq than previous releases and also included the widescreen version, I was hoping that future releases would be the same. Argh. -Dave
Craig, the point is that the price is well out of line with other products in the current marketplace. Not to mention that it's a double-dip where many people have already shelled out $500+ for the current editions. -Dave
Here are my audio related settings: Digital Out: On Dolby Digital Out: Dolby Digital 5.1 DTS Out: DTS Linear PCM Out: Downsample off MPEG Out: MPEG Speakers/Audio Output mode: 5.1 Fake surround processing is shut off on the TV, and this is on any Dolby 5.1 soundtrack. (DTS may be the...
Nope, that was the first thing that I checked (and just checked again). I have the 5.1 cluster going to my amplifier and the 2CH outs going to the television. -Dave
I don't notice it on my Malata though. If it's there, it's much more subtle and more pronounced on the Pioneer. It's very distracting on the Pioneer, almost unwatchable. -Dave
That commentary sounds like a horrible idea. I'd rather have someone who has something to contribute to the show than include a gimmicky waste of space. One more commentary I'll never listen to, I guess. -Dave
I have a quick aspect ratio comparison here:Buffy OMWF comparison. It has screencaps of the Emmy screener, the R2 single disc release, and the R2 box set release. They look the same to me. I would wager that any difference that has been reported was due to overscan or resolution issues. -Dave
The discrepancy could have been due to the way that the persons player handled the difference in resolution. (720x576 for PAL and 720x480 for NTSC). I can grab some screenshots tonight. Any preferred scenes? -Dave
Anamorphic presentation is not an extra, it is the standard. Anything less is sub-par, and is not to the level of quality of the current industry norms. -Dave
I have another 2 channel question... I have mine set up with optical and analog 5.1 going to my receiver, and I have the 2ch outputs going straight to my tv for when I don't feel like turning on the receiver, etc... The other night I threw in a disc and had only the tv on, so I was getting...
