I'm selling my Marantz SR9600 A/V receiver. It's in excellent, like new condition and has seen very little use, only 3 months old and in a non-smoking home. Everything is like new and all original packaging, manual and remote are included. I'm not using my HT much due to work so I'm going to...
Parasound Halo C1 pre/pro, $2800 Parasound HCA-855 85x5 amp, $400 Von Schweikert System 12 (3 LCR-15's in African Hazelwood, pair of TS-150 surrounds, VSA sub), $2000 JBL Northridge 5.0 system, 4 N24 bookshelf speakers and the N center speaker, $300 Some of this is my stuff, some belongs...
The Maestro M2 and Arcam AVP 700 are made by the same people and are rebadged. Only differences as far as I know are some minor firmware differences. I'm not sure who manufactures it but they are clearly the same (or very similiar) units. Audio Control mainly sells to custom installers and...
I've got an almost new Maestro M2 pre/pro I need to sell. It is a clone of the Arcam AVP700 pre/pro, same features, menu's, etc. I even updated the firmware recently with Arcam's latest firmware update since Audio Control hasn't released any updates. I have the original box and manual. It's in...
It's in like new condition and was only used for a short time. I had difficulty finding a location where the antenna wouldn't get interference so I went back to the MRF-250. Everything is included minus a couple of the emitter stickies. Asking $125 shipped in the continental US. Let me know...
Gefen 2x1 DVI switcher, comes with remote and 2 short DVI cables (1M or so). Works perfect. I've changed equipment and no longer need a DVI switcher. $200 shipped in the continental US. Still Available.
The breaker doesn't really offer any protection against surges by itself. You can get a surge protector installed at the main panel that would protect the entire house, or you can put a surge strip of some sort at the equipment location. If you do that, then you don't really need to install all...
Shoot, you can get a real screen and projector for $3000. Like a Dalite screen and an Infocus 4805 or Panasonic PT-AE700u. Or a Carada screen and the above projectors. If you have the right room for front projection, I'd highly recommend going that route over an RPTV. It's much more...
You've really only got room for one row of "good" seating. The front row would likely be a little close, but that depends on the projector you go with. 92"-110" is a good range for screens and again, would depend on what projector you go with. What's your budget, broken down for things...
If possible, try and get Paradigms for the rears so everything is timbre matched. I'd also go ahead and do 7.1 since the receiver can handle it. I'd suggest a bipole/dipole for the sides and then directs for the rears. You might go with in-ceilings for the rears, so as not to interfere with...
I've read comments from a dealer who has both Parasound and Anthem and he says the Parasound sounds better than the Anthem every time. He's about the only one I've read comments from that has compared them directly. I'd guess that the differences are pretty minor and really only noticeable on...
Generally, not good. Hard surfaces are reflective. Even rooms with carpet usually need a good number of absorbtive treatments on the walls to acheive good room acoustics. You can compensate by using a throw rug over the tile if that is your only choice.
Go ahead and send me pics if you would. It's actually a co-worker of mine who is interested. He sits next to me so I'll show him the pics when I get them. thanks.
I'd recommend putting in volume controls in each room where you are going to have in-ceiling speakers, just so you aren't limited to the same volume in all of those rooms. Then you could set the 2nd zone volume on the Denon to the max you would ever want, and adjust each pair individually from...
Beautiful work Jay. I love the layout and color of the room. I also like the "bar" seating at the rear. That's something I've had in my head to do if I get the chance to do a dedicated room. I prefer a room with simple lines, that is more "cozy" and your room fits that idea perfectly IMO...
I've done 2 of these subs and they are great. I had an M&K 5000 MKII and sold it after building the first GR sub. The M&K could play at higher spl's than the single GR, but the GR just sounded so much better. (tested them side by side) So I sold the M&K and built a second GR.
If you use a wire rated for in-wall use (CL-3 rated), you should be fine. I don't like stapling speaker wires in the wall because it always seems like I'm trying to pull another foot through after the drywall goes up. I just let it hang usually and fish it out later. If you want to staple...
