Ron, thanks for your reply. I just didn't see it when I looked the first time. Anyway, I've been convinced by this board's members, so ordered a 25-31 this AM and already got a confirmation back. It's arriving this Friday. How's that for service?
What else is new? Try building a house and then when you have to tell the worker bees how to install something it makes you wonder..........What qualifications are there for THAT job? Sad to say, but the same problem exists all over these days. No one bothers to educate themselves so they can...
I got my 2200 last week and havn't really had time to setup and go thru ALL the options. But that #%@$#*$& remote is quite confusing to me....maybe it's just me. I can't get it to set up for my Sony sattelite receiver, using "cbl/sat". Other brands are listed, but not Sony. What gives...
Thanks, Jeff. I DID plug the feed into the computer's low level(The one NOT used for feeding the conventional little computer speakers)and I got no sound. It's like the receiver just couldn't amplify such a low level feed. Do you think I did this correctly?
I'm new to this thread, but want to get a sub. What is the deal with this SVS brand? Is everyone buying direct from the mfr? Any other sources? Does Paradigm compare with SVS?
Maybe, but I forgot to mention....this computer (Dell 4400)
has the sound integrated on the main board, so I don't know if an add-on board can be installed? What is the advantage of a digital feed?
I'm trying to play my PC MP3's through a receiver with large speakers. I have tied them together through the high level jack at the back of the sound card, pluged into the aux. input of the receiver. But I seem to get a lot of distortion which promps me to ask....shouldn't I have plugged into...
Evan, I'm glad to hear your comments as I just ordered a Yamaha RX V2200 which I will use with Boston towers. I did try a comparison with the 3802 and the Marrantz 6200. I told the sales guy to A/B 'em and not tell me the brand name and run thru a series of sources. I could pick out the...
OK, I've tried, but no one in Dallas will sell these units for less than full list price. So who's had an online purchase of these units that could recommend an online dealer?
Yeah, that's all I can think of also. But the distance is about 60-70 ft. Where can I get a pr. of cables that long? Can I make something up? Will I suffer too much line loss?
Do you mean the centers would be closer to the center of the room.....in front of the couch? (The couch is on the back wall). But I can move the rears to back wall or side wall. On the side wall they could go slightly ahead of the couch to give room for the rear-facing spkrs to bounce off the...
Sounds like the Panasonic H-D TV is pretty popular. Does everyone feel that way? Especially the picture quality over Sony? I found what I believe is a 42 in. Panny at the Sears outlet( Scratch and Dent) for $1400 and then the smaller one (36 in.?) for $1000. Sounds like a pretty good...
I want to get a small(13in.) TV for my office just off the H-T room. Problem is these little TV's have tiny speakers-you know how they sound! I want to use outboard speakers to improve the sound, so will bring a video feed to the office receiver/amp by coming out of the H-T Direct TV receiver...
I just got back form auditioning the Marrantz 7200 and the Yammi 2200. I went in thinking the Marrantz would be more "musical" and would be my first choice. Was I ever wrong! When watching "Air Force One" I was impressed mostly with the Yammi's audio separation-those bullets seemed to be...
These comments bring up my quandry. My room is 19 wide by 14 ft. deep. The fronts are 10 ft. apart and the rear bi-polars high up near the rear corners. With the couch along the back wall(approx. 12 ft. from the TV), I don't believe one or two rear centers would work well. HEnce, no chance...
Actually, I have a Denon AVR810 with Pro Logic as it's primary feature. I've never been happy with the sound as only in PL can I get any sound from the center channel. So all the other formats are for music only. This ends up being a very limited sound IMO. I guess that's why I feel there...
John, my sentiments, exactly. But the problem seems to be finding a retailer who has this equipment up and running in a dedicated room. You know how it is, last yr's model is hooked up and the new one is out of stock, etc. If it IS hooked up, it's invariably to some inferior speaker or one...
Help! I'm trying to decide between the Sony DA5es and the 3802. I currently have an older Denon and have never been happy with the logic it employs in switching from input source to input source, output to output, etc. It seems rather convoluted to me. Does anyone else have that complaint or...
