Does anyone have any cabinents of this style with the storage in the doors as well as the shelves (see also the post by Jay Taylor on p.1 for the pic)? I currently have one like this that I've needed to replace for some time. One of the main problems is that the doors sagged and the hinges...
Gary: Same problem here on a Sony DVP-S530D. I only had the subtitles pop up once during the "Bonesaw" chant. I tried the disc on my Dell I8500 and there were no subtitles. There's also a thread about this on dvdtalk .

FYI, Best Buy finally put this on their site at $9.99. This is the cheapest I've seen by $4. Watch for a funny glitch when you add the title to the cart.
I looked around a bit there, but I don't see anything that will help me. The area on Mits was all about the older models, and the brand-specific forum had no posts. I did find this on AVS, but it's a little too general for my taste to go wading into the service menu. I'm looking for a more...
Where are they? I just got it last Friday, so I figured I could research during the break-in time. (I already did the basic Avia adjustments, and this is my 1st RPTV, btw.) Unfortunately, so far it looks like this information can't be found (by me, anyway) on the free forums like here and AVS...
Other Brett: I saw your thread on that rack project when I was looking for sources for for the aluminum extrusion. I think it looks cool as hell, but I don't understand how the components sit on it. Won't the feet just be in space? That would make me too nervous :frowning: . I'll definitely be...
aluminum framing I got 4x 4.5 ft. of the 45x45H shipped from my local distributor for about $160. There are other sources, though. Assembly was really no problem. Salamander has schematics and instructions on their website, so I basically just did the same thing but bigger (isn't that the...
Sorry about that! I think the file sizes were too big and they are stingy with the file transfer limit. I'm attempting to resize things now, and hopefully it will work better!
ta-da! Warning to dial-up users, it takes awhile to load. It wasn't cheap by any stretch, but it came in several hundred dollars below a comparable Salamander rack with an extension, wheels, etc. I went with a rosewood stain in attempt to match the Divas you can see in pic #1. It didn't...
I bought this game several months ago, but I didn't open and play it until recently because I wanted to finish some other games first. I've enjoyed it so far, but I'm having a technical problem that I wonder if anyone else has had that might be reading this thread. Periodically during one of the...
I'm talking about the stuff they use for the optional sides and door. Here's a pic at audioadvisor.com in case someone's not familiar with the product. I cruised around the local Lowe's and Home Depot the other day, and neither had anything even close. Any suggestions?
I could use one of these myself! Let us know if they will send you one. I've had mine since the release date, and the package bothers me every time I look through my collection. My problem is the box part, though. Amazon decided to be cheap and send it in one of those crappy, folding cardboard...
Belgarath, please seethis thread for posts by yours truly :) . I haven't yet seen anyone post that they've had the fix done other than me. It can not be found online, and the new firmware version is 1.74.
NOOOOOOOOOOOO! That was a terrible result. Never have I wished more that I had the power to jump through the TV and just shake someone! I think Zach deserved the money for having the worst partner and having to carry her ass (literally and figuratively) through the race. I was thinking it would...
You guys are absolutely correct. I didn't realize I had sound coming from my mains during the SW part of the test. I think the problem is my room. I live in an apartament, and you walk in the front door through a short hallway to the living room. This is the side of the room that is the front of...
Well, crap. I made the Peter Staddon chat, but I totally forgot about Van Ling and now this one as well. I guess I should start writing this stuff down.
I have been doing some tweaking lately and I discovered something interesting/sucky. I have my front 3 channels balanced pretty well (surrounds are a different story because they are set differently to maximize balance at multiple seats), and I think I had previously only used the left-SW tone...
Another plus of using the Adire drivers is the free version of LspCAD you can download from their website. By all accounts, this is much better than WinISD. As far as having doubts later about your DIY vs. SVS, if you're comparing $100 and $600 you could add a second DIY later if you're unhappy...
Does anyone remember for sure how long it was after the release of "Jurassic Park" that Universal made available the "alternate" (they never said the original was faulty, if I recall) DTS version? It seems to me like it took quite awhile. If in fact Universal corrects these BTTF issues (or...
I would agree with the others that the ES line is not overkill at all. You won't find many people on this forum who will recommend Sony's DE line. I also wanted to make sure that you knew that the 3es has been replaced. IMO, if you are going to be buying this unit new at this point, it should be...
Take a look in the manual. With all the DSP talk in this thread, I had to get it out to see what all the modes are supposed to do. There is a note in the DA5ES manual about increased noise with some DSP modes. By the way, I did some more fiddling today, and it looks to me like some of these...
What does a damaged tweeter usually sound like? Is this something you would know right away, or would you play something specific (like a test signal) to hear it? Are there levels of damage, or is it all or nothing? I was always a bit paranoid with my Diva 6.1s on my old non-ES Sony receiver but...
I'm personally glad to see some screen shots go because the reviews took forever to load on my dial-up connection. However, the one thing that I could count on and look forward to in your reviews are the great shots of special packaging. Hopefully these will stay. This is something that none of...
