Hi: I have a Denon 5800 with a Sunfire Cinema Grand powering the front 5 channels at 200 x 5. The Denon and Sunfire are on their own 20-amp circuit. The reset of my components are plugged into a Monster HTPS 7000 and work fine. Today, I played some music at reference level in 7-channel stereo...
Hi: Is it better to have the gain on each sub set to max and then calibrate it with DVD test tones? P.S. I have Def Tech BP 2000's and an Infinity Intermezzo 1.6s Thanks, Chris
Thanks for the reply Gregg! I'd love to have you do the calibration, if you would. I know many people on the forum are very happy with your work. What needs to be redone yearly? How much will the convergence drift, or don't I have to worry about that? Thanks, Chris
Hi: I've had my Pioneer Pro 610 HD set for about 1.5 years now. I'm finally thinking about getting it calibrated. I have a Hi-Def Sat receiver & a progressive scan DVD-Changer. I want the best picture possible. What can/should I ask to be done & how much can I expect to pay? What should...
One end of each cable was still plugged into the amp, the other ends were unplugged from the Denon and hanging free. I touched each RCA end (the part that plugs in to the inputs, the gold tip of the cables) of the Monster interconnects, one at a time, and the hum was back with every one.
My rack components have a dedicated 20A circuit. 1 outlet inside the rack. The only thing plugged into the outlet is my Monster 7000. All others are of course plugged into the Monster (including my amp). If I plug the amp directly into the outlet, it still hums. I disconnected the...
Thanks for the replies! The cinema grand does not use a grounded plug. I'm certain it's between my Denon and my amp at the interconnects because the hum was present with just the interconnects being plugged in (along with the speaker wire). What is the easiest way to fix that? Thanks, Chris
OK, I just rewired my home theater to clean up the wire monster back there. It is a dedicated room with in-wall 14-4 ga. speaker wire and an in-wall equipment rack. However, I'm STILL having a problem with low-level hum whenever my amp is on. I tested it with nothing hooked up except Monster...
Hi:
Everything is working fine. The problem is, the center and rear surround channels do not play the same info. as the left and right channels. So, the speakers that are hooked up to the center and surround channels sound weird. What I need/want to do is hook up three speakers (8-ohm) to...
Hi:
I have an Onkyo TX-DS 939 powering 6 Def Tech. inwalls with 3 Niles Audio Intellipads. The Onkyo has a 6-ohm load minimum. My problem is, one set of speakers is connected to the center channel & one set is connected to the L & R surrounds. Well, the sound isn't the same from the center...
Hi:
I have an Onkyo 939 receiver that I am using to power speakers in multiple rooms. The lowest "rated" impedence is 6 ohms. I was wondering if it would be OK to run 6 8-ohm speakers into three channels, or would it be too much for the Onkyo? It's rated at 100 w x 5 @ 8 ohms. I'd only be...
Has anyone seen any reviews on this one yet? I am wondering if it would be worth an upgrade. I currently have an Onkyo DV-M301 changer (non-progressive) with a Pioneer Elite Pro-610HD.
Chris
I had posted before about my speakers humming when using my system. Someone replied and told me it might be a ground loop. I figured out that it was my tv (Elite Pro 610), that was causing the problem. Everytime I turn it on they start humming. I have BP2000's. Would pulling the speakers...
Hi Mike:
Thanks for the reply. The Cinema Grand is plugged into a seperate 20 amp circuit along with a Monster Power 3500 power conditioner. Also, the BP2000's are plugged into seperate outlets.
Chris
Hi:
I have Def Tech BP2000's hooked up to a Sunfire Cinema Grand Amp. I am noticing speaker hum/hiss when using my system. I have the amp set to auto-on. It goes away when the amp shuts off. Is there any particular reason why this is happening? Is it bad for the speakers? What is the best...
Hi:
I have a question regarding sub calibration? I am using a Denon 5800 & have Def Tech. BP2000's and a Infinity Intermezzo 1.2s for subs. How exactly should I have the sub volumes on the subs when trying to calibrate? Half, quarter, etc? Right now the volumes on each sub are way down. On...
Thanks! Does that mean you can just run RG6 in wall & terminate it to the snap in module? Or do you have to buy a long (Read: expensive) S-video cable?
Chris
Hi:
I was wondering how you run S-Video in wall & terminate them to wall plates? I know for component you just run 3 separate RG6 cables per input.
Thanks for your input.
Chris
