I've been there. To me, it's like they turned off their subs. Just saw Die Hard there (cause my friend wanted to go to that particular theater) and it had no bass whatsoever. Are theaters lowering the levels of their subwoofers because of the loudness complaints I have heard of?
On the DVD Credits screen on the R1 dvd set, it lists the Titanic skits from MTV and SNL, plus the "Titanic in 30 seconds (bunnies)". I accessed the MTV skit but specifically how do you access the SNL and bunnies skits?
Here's how I see it.
1) The two dvd's containing special features on the non-region 1 versions are single-layed and region 1 will get the same stuff but on a double-layered dvd.
2) The two dvd's containing special features on the non-region 1 versions are double-layered and region 1 will...
This just hit me. The images on dvdanswers.com show a 2-disc special edition and a 4-disc deluxe collector's edition (at least for the Fox versions). Maybe the Paramount version we see is the 3-disc special edition we'll get instead of a 2-disc version, and the deluxe edition will still be 4...
According to the cover art on http://davisdvd.com, and http://digitalbits.com, region 1 gets a 3-disc set. Wonder what's going to be removed from the 4-disc set that Germany (for example) will be getting?
I had an ISF calibration done on my Sony KP51WS520 in the middle of May, which included the removal of the anti-glare screen and Duvetyne lining . Recently the picture became slightly green in the middle. However Sony and an Authorized Sony Warranty Service Technician told me that warranty...
This is for owners or those who are familiar with these units. I was looking into getting one of these receivers to replace my aging Sony. When I was browsing through the owner's manual of both of these units, I saw this: Muting of PRE OUT jacks, HEADPHONE jack and SPEAKER terminals The...
Regarding the chainsaw scene, in the documentary I think that DePalma stated that they had fake limbs hanging from the shower curtain rod (still pictures were shown), but he didn't film them. The 'shock' he wanted to display would come from Pacino's face, the blood and the sound of the chainsaw...
Widescreen Review Mag's website has their review up and they list the aspect ratio as 2.35:1. If I'm not mistaken they have special equipment to measure the actual aspect ratio of a film on laser and dvd. A friend of mine has the widescreen THX VHS of this movie and it is in the proper ratio...
Regarding the Auto Format Decode mode (AFD), when selected when a two channel source is played (like a CD), does the unit allow you to use the two channels (front speakers) with the subwoofer or does it treat the channels as large speakers and disengages the sub?
According to www.imdb.com this movie was presented in "Western Electric Multi-Track Magnetic Stereophonic" sound. The region 2 dvds are 2.0 stereo and the old laserdisc is PCM stereo. This, at least, would have made a decent 4.0 DD soundtrack (hell I'll take 2.0). Instead the U.S.A. gets...
I just read this on miami-vice.org: I spoke to my contact at Universal Playback in London today. There is a meeting thursday with representitives of all Universal worldwide branches and related copyright people. By the end of it a decision on "Miami Vice" being released on DVD in the future...
I'm curious. How can Day of the Dead get a remastered Dolby Digital 6.1 EX and DTS 6.1 ES soundtrack but the upcoming Manhunter will be mono? Just curious.
According to imdb and a documentary I saw, SB was filmed in Super Technirama 70mm and the aspect ratio is 2.20:1, 2.35:1 for 35mm prints. Personally, I hope the transfer is from the 70mm print.
My rp32k does have 'darker (0 IRE)' and 'lighter (7.5 IRE)' options; it it currently set on 0 IRE. Also the A120 that was replaced had this too and was on the darker setting when the tv was calibrated. It's not really a bother. When John Gannon(spelling ?)--the same one who used to calibrate...
