The box does stretch the pic. You can choose the display resolution. I haven't messed with it, but I don't think you have aspect control. I've been VERY impressed with the quality of the Flyers broadcasts. I really expected a much lower quality of production but Comcast seems to have jumped...
A great way to figure that out is to go to eBay and do a search through the completed items. It gets you in the neighborhood. It may not give you "blue book" value of the equipment but it will certainly show you what people are willing to pay - and that's what matters most!
Hi Rachael, I have a 5503 and it really is a good amp. What it has going for it most is reserve power, it is definitely a quick & lively amp. It's got great depth but can get a little harsh in the mids & highs at volume. From what I read here you have smaller speakers (I don't know the...
I got my Sports Night set today. I opened it to find all 3 volumes are Volume 2!!!!:frowning:
I was wondering if anyone else wound up with this assortment.
I've had several 555's over the years and still run one as a sub-amp. Moved over to a 5503/5400 combo for my mains, center and rears. Compared to their original retail value they don't get "good prices" but that $335 is a good price and a year from now you could quite likely get what you paid...
What usually happens with standard TV signals is that HDTV set show ALL the flaws of the source. Another problem is that most sets will up-convert the signal to a minimum of 480p if not 1080i so the TV's (or STB's) ability to upconvert comes in to play as motion artifacts usually result.
One...
I've heard this amp in several different settings and it's a sweet piece for that money. I've seen it a little cheaper online but $800 from B&M is a pretty good price.
It's not going to part your hair and send you running from the room but it's very smooth and very musical. It's one of the...
I sent an e-mail to WHYY "Talkback" and received an VERY quick response from their CTO confirming what I thought might be the case:
"WHYY-DT55 is transmitting at a medium power level at this point in development. Indoor reception off DTV signals can be very difficult and varying from channel to...
Trying to pick up WHYY on channel 55. I'm in the Norristown area, 10-12 miles from where I've read the transmitter is in Roxborough. I pull in CBS at 100 on the scale, ABC and Fox in the 70's but can't get more than an intermittent signal lock from PBS. I also don't get much more than that...
Also not a basketball fan, but I'm watching some of it right now. If the Masters looks this good next weekend it will be almost as good as when I was there in 95! Sports are just made to be in HDTV, wow.

I'm going to install my new Plus oval dish this weekend so I can pickup the slim pickings of DirecTV HD available on my Tosh DST3000.
I have a vague memory of reading somewhere it's a bad idea to hook the twin-LNB setup into a non-Plus receiver. Can someone tell me if that's the case? From...
Yes, you would have to subscribe to actually get the channels that are listed....but since they re-direct the channel numbers to the broadcast channel numbers the listings are right there next to your antenna channel!
Works better if you get all your stations OTA, not so well if you (like me)...
I'm two weeks into my Tosh/Hughes STB so I thought I'd try to get a feel for what kinds of experiences others in this area are getting.
I have the RS Double-Bowtie and I've been able to get CBS(100% strength!), Fox and ABC without too much trouble. I've been a little surprised with how...
Unfortunately it is more complicated than that. DirecTV will not let you just move your card to another receiver - they are "married." If you buy a new receiver you just call DirecTV with it hooked up and give them the receiver serial number and the card number. They'll activate it and...
It's The Masters for me. I was fortunate enough to be there in 95 so when I bought my 56X81 last July I set April as my drop-dead date for a STB. I WILL be watching the Masters in HD this year.
