Sooo, quite a bit of time has passed since the last update - any news on the Abyss Blu-ray?
I had the desire of watching this great movie recently only to be reminded that the only way for me to do this right now would be to torture my eyes with the non-anamorphic (!) DVD. No way!
Only three...
Glad to see there are several others that prefer the original mono mix. For that reason I am still holding on to the Terminator DVD, I haven't bought the Blu-ray. If the re-relase where to include the original mono mix I'd be happy to buy it.
The worst one I can think of right now is Bill Conti's awful score for the Bond film 'For your Eyes only' - always takes me out of the spectacular action sequences (one of the best from any bond film IMHO).
I think Ron stated somewhere that the Heat:SE has been pushed back to February 2005. :-( Well, I am willing to wait if they'll get it right. This is one of my favorite films.
I'm also quite sick of Star Wars despite the fact that they are still sort of my favorite movies. But collecting DVDs since May '98 and being a member here since early 1999 I whitnessed all the rumors, false release dates and discussing - frankly, after so much time now I no longer care about...

I'm even more interested when the SEs are being released. So far I managed to fight off my urge to buy the current version but I don't know how longer I can resist. :frowning:
Warner said in their last chat that this will be one of their biggest titles in 2004. No date has been announced though. I am anxiously waiting for it myself, Heat is one of my favorite movies.
"Who? Who?! What are you, a f***ing owl?" :D
I also saw the movie for the first time yesterday and really liked it. Picture quality was generally very good but there were a few instances of VERY bad compression artifacts, especially at the beginning of the movie. Perhaps they aren't as obvious on a TV as on a 6,5 foot wide screen but at...
Two of my favorite commentary tracks are Jim Cameron's on T2 and Aliens. Very interesting stuff there and a joy to listen. I haven't heared his commentary for Solaris though. Not very far behind are Peter Jackson's tracks for the LOTR EEs - he seems to be a very nice guy with lots of...
