It's been many years since we had a Utah Meet. We have had several meets back in the day, we even had the opportunity visit Jim Fosgates home theater back before Prologic II came out to hear his new invention PLII on his Tube Prologic II processor in person. He had an amazing setup.
If anyone...
I had designed these over 10 years ago but put off building them so I finally built them to replace the DIY bookshelf on stands I had been using. Dayton 5 1/4 and 30 year old (but new in box) Radio Shack 1" Mylar dome tweeters. These drivers are a 100 percent match to all my other 7.1 theater...
We couldn't afford 6 real theater type recliners but I found these 6 recliners at my local Smiths Marketplace that fit my 12' wide room perfectly and are pretty comfy for just $200 each. We did away with the two matching couches we had there for 15 years. Was time for a change.
I love Pioneer receivers, I am on my 5th one since 1990 and I wouldn't even consider another brand and I would love to upgrade to a 9.2 system Atmos system!
I have had a DIY 9.1 system ever since a few of us on here figured out how Dolby must have created the overhead channel on "We Were Soldiers" special screening in Arizona using a additional (Onkyo) Prologic II receiver to create the overhead channel. Not being able to afford a new receiver with...
Well I recently upgraded to a 1080p DLP projector (126" screen) , I don't even have a HDMI HD audio receiver yet, my LG Bluray player that does my HD audio decoding has given up so I had to revert back to reg DD/DTS 7.1 with a samsung 5900 Bluray player but this one has wifi and Netflix which is...
I'm a old timer here (1997) just haven't posted here in like forever and just had moved on to other things I guess. I still have my theater and use it daily but haven't upgraded it as I would like and it's in need of a remodel but I thought you might like to see my custom T-Shirts I made back...
There's several 10" powered subs for under $100 at on line stores that would do wonders. Or look in local want ads and you may be able to pick something up for cheaper. Most subs will have line level input as well as RCA so it would work with a HT in a Box set up!
Just thought I would add to this thread adding Dolby PLIIz now incorporates the over head channel I have been playing with for a couple years now. Dolby has it installed upfront where I have mine directly overhead! Just thought it was interesting to see it's finally here! There may be other...
Don't know if this has been posted here before but the other day I was waiting for my son at the Library and thumbed through their CD's and stumbled upon a Evanescence CD "Anywhere But Home" I was not familiar with. So I checked it out and to my surprise it had DVD in it also that had a Paris...
This may be cheaper and will do the trick, no need for the VHF (larger part) when all HD is on the UHF band! 40" Boom Length, 17 Elements Outdoor Antenna for UHF-Only - RadioShack.com Might even want to try this, I have seen good results with it! UHF Outline Bow-Tie Antenna - RadioShack.com
My Bluray player has 5.1 channel out for PCM and True HD (no dts Master built in decoder) and I'm running that into my Multichannel 5.1 input but because of the lack of bass managment in the player I have mixed feelings as to wether I like the uncompessed vs the DD/dts which I might add can be...
So is there Dolby Digital Plus on Bluray? I think on HD DVD there was on all True HD releases but I seem to just get True HD or DD on my new Blu player on Iron Man. Perhaps Blu does not include DD Plus?
I know they can adapt, all my boys public schools have macs in them to learn on and no IBM's. But not being able to play games, now that's a biggy for me! I can just imagine the kid get's his PC then goes and buys a game just to find his new PC will not even load it!
Thanks for the reply, I refurbish PC's for Foster Children and had these PC's donated. Other then not being able to play games would this OS be useful to Children from 8-18 with who knows what PC back ground they may have? I just hate to have them fire it up and starr at it and say what the heck...
I have played around with a PC that has ubuntu but noticed I cant load any of the games a Windows based PC will load. Is there any open OS's that will load and play store bought games? This seems to be a big problem with OS's if they can't play games isn't it?
Well I just installed a PCI audio card I had from a parts PC and now it works perfect. I tried half a dozen audio drivers I found on the net for that PC but none worked so I went a different route. I now have refurbished 6 PC's this week, a few 800 and a few 1.6mhz that had been donated to me...
I just put a ripped song from another pc on a memory usb card and played it right off the card and it even played fast from it! Hmmmmm, not sure what that's telling me! I also just tried a different power supply and still no luck!
I refurb PC's to donate to Foster Children and this last PC I have gone through is a a PIII 800mhz Compaq Desktop. Right off the bat I found the Power supply to be bad so I replaced that with one I had sitting around. Everything else in the reinstall and all software went on with ease. All...
Thanks to all who donated to this fund raiser for Sports Equipment for the Orphans in Zaporozhye Boarding School #3. I suspect with the way they love soccer these new soccer balls will get plenty of use with the 200 or so children who live at the School. Here is a photo report of the purchase...
I just contacted the Utah Division of Child and Family Welfare and stated I had PC's I wished to donate to children in the Foster Care system. the lady I was sent to has gone to work for me finding children that are in need, most I believe has gone to children just leaving the system and going...
