FYI, these are on sale at Best Buy right now for 9.99 each. The Taking Of Pelham One Two Three never even got an anamorphic release on DVD, I was pretty surprised to see it sitting in the endcap. If you want them I would suggest trying to pick them up this week, not sure how long the 9.99 deal...

Looks spectacular. NEW transfer, excellent source materials, no visible digital BS. Buy it.

Old transfer. Edge enhancement out the wazoo. Filtered with noise reduction making the considerable grain structure a clumpy, globby, blurry mess. It looks absolutely awful. Thanks for nothing Universal and Lucasfilm.

Amazon has preorders up for both of these for a Feb release. I haven't heard anything about this. Could these possibly be public domain or are they coming straight from MGM? Of course, I just bought these on DVD about 6 months ago.

Serious question. I know they are exclusively Blu-Ray right now, but if HD-DVD starts to look like a viable format where money can be made what would prevent Fox from releasing titles on the format? Do they have a financial interest in Blu-Ray technology?

My review: Looks really good. Colors and source quality are top-knotch. Was SLIGHTLY dissapointed with fine detail, most scenes appear a bit soft with transfer not really resolving the fine film grain I expected to see on a title like this. Could be just my expectations rather that problem...
