Does anyone have a good reliable source for pre-recorded audio cassettes. My fathers's truck only takes them and he wants a couple for Christmas. I've scanned over ebay, but I'm somewhat skittish over what I've seen there. Thanks.
I am currently looking at picking up one of these. At $349 shipped, seems like a great bargain. The room I plan on using this in is a little over 1600 cubic feet so it should be more than enough for it. I'm replacing, finally, an old Velodyne CT-100 that has served me well. What I am also...
I am going with just the 5 speakers initially and they are all small, NHT Super Zeros. Is there any reason not to just set the speakers up as Small and SBCH off and run the MCACC keeping those speaker settings? Thanks
I should be getting my Pioneer Elite 72 in soon. I downloaded the manual and was reading over about the MCACC setup. A question came to mind however that wasn't answered there: When you set things up initially, where do you start out with the volume control on the subwoofer? At maximum or...
Has anyone who is using the component video connection from their HD cable boxes ever noticed much, if any, downrezzing due to HDCP? I'm asking this because I am getting a new receiver, Pioneer VSX-72 with HDMi switching. I am reading about all the issues of using an HDMI connection through the...
I was looking at the Pioneer DV-588 in their site and they have it region free for $179. How are they as a vendor and how is that player for that price? It looks like a decent truly universal player at that price point? I know I can find it cheaper as a region 1 player, but I want to replace my...
Has anyone had any experience with both of these receivers? I'm considering the 703 but started noticing the 702, last years model. It looks like the main difference is the XM readiness of the 703 and that the 702 has an optical digital output which the 703 lacks. If I can pick up the 702...
I am looking into picking up the Onkyo 703 to go with my NHT Superzeros. I've been using a Sony DA50ES with them. My main concern is that the Sony was 120 watts per channel and the Onkyo is 100 per channel. I never even had the Sony up to halfway on the volume so I don't think that the lower...
I just got a Pace 551 HDTV cable box from Comcast and the manual, which was put out by Pace, seems almost useless. The regular Pace code for One For All universal remotes doesn't even work on it. The Scientific Atlanta one does though. Sheesh. Anyway, there are a couple of things on one of...
I'm looking at picking up this one as the prices are really dropping on it. Do you have to use the DM-S305 microphone for the autosetup or was any other full range microphone work. If I have to use it, I'll get one when I buy it. Thanks.
Ok guys, Santa is being very good to me this Christmas and I'm looking to upgrade in the receiver category. I've currently got the Sony DA50ES. I'm looking to spend up to $1500.
My requirements are:
7 digits inputs at least 4 must be toslink
2 component video inputs, 3 would be nice...
Does anyone have any experiences or knowledge of these online vendors:
American Theater Systems: www.amsound.com
New World Audio: www.newworldaudio.com
Federal Stereo: www.federalstereo.com
I tried them out and the prices looked very good, but then again, if something looks too...
I've been looking at these recievers and the Kenwood Sovereign 5700 looks like just what I need. Santa and work have been good this fall so I may just go for it. I know Crutchfield has it but there has to be a better price out there. So where is it????
Thanks!
I saw this DVD the other day in Sam Goody's. Anyone seen it yet? The website, www-classic-rocklegends.com has some pretty interesting DVD's available. Hawkwind, The Strawbs, Steve Howe, Rick Wakeman...
It is an import but an NTSC pressing. Looks region code free also.
I just got a flyer from J&R music world and they had what looks like a good deal on a Pronto remote. The Pronto TS1000 for $129.99. Even if this is an older version, it seems like a good deal. Anyone else seen this?
I saw this DVD in the local Sam Goody's. It had an "import" sticker on it but it didn't seem like one. It was in NTSC. I looked it up on Amazon and it says there region 1. Anyway, has anyone seen this? The reviews on Amazon were pretty bad. The song list looks good so I was hopeful but...
Does anyone know if this was ever released and if not, why? It was announced a while back but I was never ever able to find it and any place anymore that still lists it has "No Longer Available".
Has anyone tried out the Teac RW-D200 cd recorder. Sam's has it for $249. The price of audio blanks have come down enough, it may be worth it for a consumer deck. The price seems pretty good.
