Paramount confirmed the audio sync issue with this release and is working on sending new copies to retail and working on a replacement program. The sapphire series is really shining with 50% of their releases being botched. Regardless of whether you experience a sync issue or not, you should...
Hi Neil,
I was reacting more to the UK release which is definitely botched as there are multiple user accounts of lip synching issues even with the PS3. I'm assuming that the UK and the US discs are the same transfer. When the bd.com review mentioned he experienced the synch issue, then this...
Looks like this release is plagued with the lip synch issue that the UK release has. The blu-ray.com mentions the lip synch issue. It seems to be player/receiver/etc dependent (possibly) as some notice it and some can't help but not notice it. It's very disheartening to hear the release is...
Heavenly Creatures is my favorite PJ film. When I saw that film, I couldn't believe the Dead Alive guy did this. After Heavenly Creatures, Lovely Bones seems like a natural fit for him and I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully in December, I can get out to see it. With a newborn, seeing...
FYI for those thinking of importing the Swedish version w/ the correct subs. Apparently, the new 2.7 update to the PS3 has rendered it unplayable. I guess there is an opening part on the disc that is 1080i/50hz which the PS3 used to skip but now it cannot bypass it. This may affect other titles...
St Louis is one point out of a playoff spot with 9 games left. I love watching their kids play--Perron, Oshie, and Berglund. Mason has been a monster in net.
I imported the Scanbox In Bruges Blu. It's very nice and this was the import Amazon was going to carry but pulled. Supposedly they only shipped about 400 copies. The distributor who supplies Amazon w/ those imports posted on another forum that it was pulled at the request of Universal. They felt...
My wife and I and some friends went last year and are doing it again this year at AMC. We had a blast so we are going again this year. I'll have to bone up on some trivia before we go. Fortunately, we have all seen Forrest Gump 2 so we'll go to dinner, etc during that time.
Disappointed the TDK didn't get a BP or Directing nom. It didn't surprise me, but I think it deserved it. Glad to see In Bruges get an Original Screenplay. It's a great film that I wish had gotten an acting nom. No Dark Knight score nom? WTF. Didn't like seeing Forest Gump 2 with so...
Thought I'd throw this out there for fans of the BTAS (since it might get lost in the music section) but La La Land Records has a 2 CD set of music from the series that was just released. If you are a fan of the series, then you'll love this. It's limited to 3,000 so buy em up and hopefully...
I didn't care for Tim but I like Summer Heights. Mr. G and Jonah are my favorite characters. The songs for the musical about the girl who died of an overdose killed me. Are you on your period, miss?
Most prognosticators are predicting the Blues will finish near the bottom of the heap in the West. I think they will surprise and sneak into the playoffs in maybe an 8 spot. Unfortunately, they lost their future star defenseman, Eric Johnson, to a season ending knee injury involving a golf cart...
I emailed Sony about the issue. Here is the response: Thank you for your e-mail. We appreciate your interest in Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) products. We are aware of this issue and are working towards a solution. Please be patient and we will reply shortly. Thank you for...
One subtle moment I loved that I didn't catch in my first viewing, is how Dent thinks Rachel is still alive when he sees his coin. Then he flips it over to see the scarring of the coin and realizes she's dead and cries out (can't hear w/ the music swelling).
I loved the film. It was absolutely stunning and multiple viewings will only enhance it. Ledger was riveting and Eckhart did a f-ing great job as well. I was somewhat leary about how Two-Face was going to be handled but it was excellent. I bought into the transformation completely as I think the...
I worked hard to get this DVD released so I'm hoping everyone gives it a shot. It's a truly great film IMHO and I know Milcho is very excited to see his film finally released on DVD. Here's a link to Roger Ebert's 4 star review from 1995. Before The Rain :: rogerebert.com :: Reviews
Yeah, I'm an impulsive buyer at times. I think Shoot Em Up was one of the discs I had issues and most recently To Live and Die in LA (from Japan). I had the audio selected as Bitstream and couldn't get it to work right.
Josh, Thanks for your help. I've tried all of those options and it never worked for me. I just ended up going out and buying a new Onkyo 606 which can do all of the new blu-ray audio. I'm trying not to get the upgrade bug but now I want new speakers.
