For the first time since I got my player, I wonder if I should save a CD and skip this one. Maybe I'll wait a week and leapfrog to 2.5.

Brian, I noticed that also. Some folks on IMDB seem to think that the original VHS contained a version that was about 2.5 minutes longer, so that's probably the one we'll be getting next. Hopefully the "NEW Introduction" will answer all our questions. :)

Roland, Do you know for certain that that they will be using the anaglyph method, or is this just a guess on your part? I would just as easily guess that they would include inexpensive polarized lens glasses, which produce a much more satisfying 3-D experience.

Okay, their reply was that it was delayed until this fall (an estimate). However, they plan on releasing multiple MacGillivray Freeman Films at that time. Case closed for now.

Our big master list had this title slated for a 4/8 release (and has now moved to the currently released section). I may be missing something, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Does anybody have any news or information to share regarding this film on Blu?

What model of receiver(s) does your brother have?

I'm not sure, but since nobody is broadcasting Dolby TrueHD, I wouldn't worry about it. Just use component for video and optical for your audio.

On the good side, it looks like the DVD cover for Gallipoli is much less of a spoiler than the previous VHS cover and actual movie poster... which effectively showed the final shot of the film. See, even with the spoiler tag I can't bring myself to spoil anything. :)

I believe that horns are the tweeters of choice due to their wide dispersion (as well as the theory of their brightness being an advantage when projecting sound through the screen). -Kelly
