Was anyone else disappointed by the Identity Disc packaging? I preordered it from Amazon, and when it showed up today I was pretty unimpressed.

On my anamorphic display, Armageddon looks better than many anamorphic discs. It'd be great however if Criterion did something like they did with Charade and re-released Armageddon with an anamorphic transfer.

I'm surprised that there's so much support here for the pricing model of the SE version of this release. I was one of the people surprised to see, what I thought to be, an exorbitant price on the special edition. I would have liked to buy the DVD, but the high price definitely deterred me.

Being a big fan of a movie and throwing money away on a duplicated presentation of it aren't the same thing. Why shouldn't a big fan want an improved presenation of a film they like?

Bottle Rocket is a film that I often point to when I talk with friends about movies deserving a better edition (while other films from CTHV, like xXx, have 4 versions available).
