Rope is an 1.37:1 academy ratio movie from 1948. So does anyone have any idea why the DVD has a widescreen banner at the top? Is it MAR or is this just a flub on Universal's part?

My choice is easy:
Rat Race.
It's not so much the giving-away-the-money-to-charity thing that I didn't like, it was the Smash Mouth concert. What a complete, total sellout ending. The characters just happen to end up on stage with a crappy, commercial Top 40 group that will be forgotten in...
Kurtwood Smith's Clarence Boddicker is one of my favorite movie villians of all time. Right up there with Darth Vader and Hans Gruber. This guy is the embodiment of what a movie villian should be like. He's absolutely despicable. He doesn't just spout off one-liners, he's a total badass.
This guy was hilarious. He was opposed to HDTV and told people to write their congressmen telling them that we don't want HDTV with its wide non-square image and high resolution. He hated HDTV because it wasn't 1.33:1. You have to wonder if he was opposed to movie theaters because their screens...
Currently in rotation:
Dreamcast:
Shenmue
Sonic Adventure
Sonic Adventure 2
Resident Evil: Code Veronica
Rayman 2
PS1:
Silent Hill
Spyro: Year of the Dragon
Final Fantasy VII
Donkey Kong 64 and Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask require the expansion pack. It was included with Donkey Kong 64. Perfect Dark requires it to play the full game.
Gotta agree with Rob on Conker's Bad Fur Day. The game combines two of my loves. Cartoons and mature adult humor. Cutesy cartoon characters getting drunk, vomiting, pissing and shitting? Right up my alley. Bring on the GameCube sequel, Rare!!
Other good games I've played this year:
Paper...
Just the thought of Silent Hill in 5.1 gives me the creeps.
I wonder if there's any possibility of getting an upgraded version of Silent Hill 1 on Xbox or Cube? I would LOVE it if Silent Hill were available on Dreamcast, but that'll never happen. The closest DC has is Resident Evil Code...
Yes, I would advise everyone who doesn't already have one to buy a Dreamcast! Heck, buy two of them! It's the best game system you will ever get for $49.99. For the past year, I've been picking cheap 32-bit PS1 games at $19.99, now I'm getting 128-bit DC games for that price and less! Too good...
My analogy of choice (which I came up with) is this.
Suppose you're at a museum, and you're taking a photo of DaVinci's The Last Supper (a very wide painting), would you get close up so that you can only see the middle of the painting, or stand back so that you can fit the whole thing in the...
I haven't played Shenmue yet, (it's a christmas present) but the controls sound pretty straightforward. The manual says:
"Press up to have Ryo move forwards, left/right to move left/right or down to turn around. Tap left or right to have Ryo take one step to the left or right.
Press and...
I'd say buy a Dreamcast and about 10 or 15 games. Dreamcast has the original Crazy Taxi and Crazy Taxi 2 (which is on no other system). The GameCube (as well as PS2) version is just a port and is probably not as good.
Just out of curiousity, what was so terrible about the Sega CD? I never played one, but had the impression that it was a decent system. Are you guys talking about all the games or just the FMV games?
Why do you need a new system if you have a Dreamcast? Sure there aren't any more games coming out, but who buys more than 20 - 25 games for a system anyway?
