While we await the next Warner Archive Announcements...

I'm thinking positive and saying that someone- I don't care if it's Warner or Criterion or even the distant long shot of Shout- but someone is releasing that around October this year.

I don't know the specific rumor but I could see Criterion releasing I Walked With A Zombie since it's the most prestigious of the remaining Lewton movies and it's a real long shot but maybe The 7th Victim too. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if those two and The Ghost Ship and Bedlam...

I'd be most worried about what all the people who sat in my seat before me had been doing.

I've seen that picture before but can't find it now. However, I did find a picture of a marquee with Disco Sex which promises to "Pick up where Saturday Night Fever left off". :) This guy's Flickr has a bunch of pictures of old marquees (alot of The Deuce/porn and grindhouse stuff but a number...

Like I said in my other post, Warners wouldn't have to pay licensing fees like Shout had to so I think that would make more than enough of a difference that Warners would make money from most or all of the Lewton movies. Especially if other titles they release are presumably making a profit for...

That must be the case but I'd think part of the problem there was that Shout had to spend money to license them (which obviously isn't a factor for Warner Archives) but I still can't believe that a fair number of the Warner Archive titles outsell some of the remaining Lewton titles. In no way do...

This isn't meant to be a "Why aren't they releasing what I want?" post but I do wonder if alot of these titles (not this month in particular- just speaking broadly) would sell better than some of the unreleased Val Lewton titles. Maybe I'm overestimating them but I'd think that I Walked With A...

The Plot Against America was great TV. Even if it's only on DVD.

    Vinegar Syndrome probably does then.

With the popularity of slasher movies and that horror fans still buy Blu-rays, I'm shocked He Know You're Alone hasn't been released by Warners yet. Hopefully, Scream Factory has gotten he rights because if not, it'll be until at least next September or October for WA to put it out.

I've had someone in their 20's tell me that they like the current SW sequels but they don't think they've even seen the originals and have no interest in seeing them. I always point out that it's not like the average young person in the 1950's cared about silent movies or big band music. Kids...

Batman: The Animated Series (still the best version of Batman) is almost definitely going to get announced there too.

I'm guessing Scream Factory will use The Curse Of The Cat People to decide how deep they're going to go with golden age horror titles.

Yep. Twenty years ago, I'm sure people said "I only want to buy magazines. Why should I have to be on the internet to get information about <x, y or z>?" It's also worth noting that people are putting alot more information at risk by simply shopping on the internet than by being on Facebook.

I joined probably more than a decade ago and they never required anything beyond an e-mail address and a name.

For all the people who are scared of Facebook, start an account with a fake name.

Is it only me that wants to see He Knows You're Alone released on Blu-ray? Oh wait, it is only me. :)
