Why I Own So Many Movies.

From the video ... "I love owning all this stuff." Yes, yes you do. I wonder if any of these guys have had a recent interaction with a female that hasn't involved a credit card. ;)

A few words about…™ S2 Lithographic movie posters...

I'd love to see S2 tackle Red Headed Woman (1932). One of the more gorgeous posters of all-time and owning the original is a pricey proposition.

A few words about…™ S2 Lithographic movie posters...

Mr. Harris is quite correct. Three sheets do take a lot of space. Unfortunately, I have only 8' ceilings, so the only place that I can put this original three-sheet of Moon Over Miami (and give it some room to breathe) is on the wall in my stairwell.

Why I Own So Many Movies.

You wrote: Disney + is the only major studio I know of that is streaming their own content at the moment but expect more to follow. If Disney + manage to get a big subscriber base they will not permit any other company to show their owned content. Hopefully, you meant to write something else...

Why I Own So Many Movies.

Probably 25 years ago now, I started a thread entitled ... "You know you have a DVD problem when ..." If I were to add to that, it would be ... you know you have a DVD problem when you think the prices are going to go up. You also have a movie problem when you spend the majority of your time...

    Criterion Blu-ray titles!

Yes. It's a travesty that we don't have the trailer to watch Warren Beatty go past the same hair salon chair 5+ times as a hairdresser with a bad haircut. Film is officially dead.

    Criterion Blu-ray titles!

Possibly, but more likely Children of Men ... also the clock in the swing most likely Swing Time. Owl with the snake ... most likely Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

The Official Disney Movie Club Blu-ray Exclusives Thread

That Darn Cat would be nice ... as well as The Moon-Spinners. But I'm guessing that I won't see The Moon-Spinners, simply because I really want it.

    A Few Words About A few words about...™The Apartment -- in Blu-ray

No doubt Arrow's release of The Apartment is a strong upgrade from the previously released Blu-Ray. However, words posted on this thread like, "absolute perfection" it is not. 1. I'm not a fan of films being released without their original studio banner. 2. I'm not sure why a bit of time (or...

    A Few Words About A few words about...™The Apartment -- in Blu-ray

Amazon gave me a $36.15 credit. So with the $5 dollar inconvenience credit they already gave me, The Apartment cost me $11.97 after taxes. From the many posts on that subject, I realize that this release was disappointing to many, purchase-wise. But, at this point, I'm willing to shut up and...

Blu-ray Review Crimson Peak Blu-Ray Review

I'm a fan of del Toro's films, for the most part. This movie was so bad, I found it upsetting. Completely predictable story. Why invest 3 years of a career making this?

    Criterion Blu-ray titles!

Agreed. At best, I may watch four or five extras over the course of a year, so the chances that an extra or two is going to persuade me to get this is slim and none. And Slim left town on a bomb.

A Few Words About While we wait for A few words about...™ Tenebre -- in Blu-ray

Sophistry. Finding something of lesser perceived value does not make the case that your purchase has value, or more importantly, is a good idea. It's just the Young Frankenstein argument ... Could be worse ... could be raining. You've convinced me. Don May is first and foremost in the...

A Few Words About While we wait for A few words about...™ Tenebre -- in Blu-ray

Why would you assume that they are paying an employee to pack these up? After all, they're not paying employees to manufacturer the product. Most likely, their distribution is subcontracted out on-the-cheap to a warehouse so they don't have to pay benefits or a decent wage. Any discussion...

A Few Words About While we wait for A few words about...™ Tenebre -- in Blu-ray

Neither, for shipping purposes, if just a few cents per order are spent on packing materials. That's the point. They're making money off of shipping it to you and money off of the absurd notion that this collectible is worth more because of contrived supply. That's a joke. One hopefully...

A Few Words About While we wait for A few words about...™ Tenebre -- in Blu-ray

ah ... shipping and handling has been increased for this release due to the "fragile nature of the steelbook packaging." Wow. Marketing b.s. has come full circle ... where thin metal is called steel and steel is then called fragile ... as they make a buck off of both. Bravo. Hopefully...

The Official Disney Movie Club Blu-ray Exclusives Thread

Ahhh ... too bad it is Region 2 as opposed to region free. I also would love to have The Moon-Spinners on Blu-Ray. I saw it back-in-the-day at the local drive-in theatre.

Could the original, unaltered STAR WARS be on its way to Blu-ray?

I'm not into hating on George Lucas. He didn't steal anything from me, including my childhood. That said, his white slaver comment is beyond dumb. Lucas took his sale of Lucasfilm in Disney stock, not cash. So, how the White Slaver goes, so goes Lucas (at least until he cashes out). Perhaps...

A Few Words About A few words about...™ Rear Window -- in Blu-ray

Definitely not the skyline from Rope. I'm guessing the skyline is San Francisco. Whether it is directly from a film or merely a thematic "idea" I'm not sure. Thus, the more likely candidates are Vertigo or The Birds.

Charles, You have it on the UK set as well. It's called Rear Window Ethics. The full name on the documentary is "Rear Window Ethics: Remembering and Restoring a Hitchcock Classic" and I'm guessing the shortened name is what tripped you up. Thanks for the MFL reference. Rich D
