    Sony contact details for replacement?

Hi guys Long time break from HTF (I barely have time for movies, let alone forums about movies unfortunately!). Does anyone have a contact email (generic is fine, I'm not asking for anyone's personal contacts!) to arrange for a replacement item through Sony USA? Much appreciated - I've tried...

Blu-ray Review HTF BLU-RAY REVIEW: Watchmen: Director's Cut

No trailers? Fail. No viral videos? Fail. Sure, two of the viral videos are on the BD-Live, but it's not like there isn't room for them. Worse yet (imho) is the UK disc (also released in AUS) was announced as having the four viral videos. It doesn't. It has one. At least announce the damn disc...

PS3 Blu Ray Audio Playback Problem

HD Wonderland: Can I ask what disc you are referring to? Let us know what movie you're watching, which version you have (region 1, USA, etc) and it could give us something more helpful to work with. Also, with your setup, can you tell us the make/model of your TV and amplifier?

PS3 Blu Ray Audio Playback Problem

I'm going to take a punt here, and assume that the error is something to do with the centre channel, and that the only reason you've noticed it on animated films might be by sheer chance that those are the only ones you're listening to in 5.1. And that is a random guess.

This is Spinal Tap - Criterion - is mine a bootleg?

Hello, I've just received a copy of the Criterion Tap from eBay. Just wanted to confirm a couple of details that I was unsure about. Basically, the slick, case, and booklet appear to be legit, in so much as they match the quality. The disc's info rings (on either side) read: "SIDE 1...

Blu-ray Review HTF BLU-RAY REVIEW: Ghostbusters

I just picked up this disc today (well, actually, my post-sound gal picked it up as her local store had it, and mine was still waiting to receive theirs!). it's delightful. the grain. the matte boxes on the dogs. the occasional dodgy effect. i recently rewatched the dvd. i loved it. I...

    Terminator 1 & 2

Van, It might have been German, but I'm not sure. I'll check it again when I get some time this week and let you know. The intro to the text/board deleted scenes are foreign, then the actual script excerpt is English. Weird really... As for the region coding, the other option is that it might...

    Terminator 1 & 2

Van, Thank you for taking the time to respond to my questions. I just have a couple of follow ups. Do you know who I should contact in regards to the Studio Canal disc's BD-Live not all being in English (I have to assume it's a server-side issue, rather than player settings on my end, as my...

Warner's BD-Live offers downloading alternative to streaming video

Nicholas, I haven't seen the "Media Manager" option in the TDK BD-live menu. Can you more specifically describe where it is/how to use it? EDIT: I just reloaded the disc, and it's now there!

    Terminator 1 & 2

Van, Just bought the Australian release of the Skynet Edition BD, and running it on my PS3, my gripes aren't with load time or anything, other than the damn unskippable Studio Canal logo! You get it upon loading, then again when starting the film (although as a separate title on the disc). A...

    Benjamin Button

Well, that's a shame. I just bought the Warner BD (Australia), and while spec-wise it seems to be up to par with the Criterion version, and on first-glance the extras appear to be the same, it's missing the timeline feature. The HTF review makes it sound rather interesting, can anyone elaborate...

A few thoughts about.....LET THE RIGHT ONE IN

Further, I found this over on Icons Of Fright, it's a message from the US distribution co. to the CA co. "Yes the bloggers are having a field day on this one. Normally they like to pick on the English Dub tracks, but in this case it’s the subtitles. Obviously online tend to get rowdy and...

A few thoughts about.....LET THE RIGHT ONE IN

Well, this one may go back to Amazon unopened. Unfortunately, I ordered it, then immediately came across the info (it had been in my basket since before release). By the time I tried to cancel it's order, it had entered shipping. I'm appalled by Magnet's decision to not offer an exchange...

Universal to release "Army of Darkness: Screwhead Edition" on May 19

Fair call Ron. I must say, one of the reasons I pretty much only hang around on this forum (as far as HT/movies/etc go) is because of the vibe, reasonable (but justified) rules, and the effort that you and the team go to from events through to reviews (well, with the exception of the Eagle Eye...

Universal to release "Army of Darkness: Screwhead Edition" on May 19

Cheers for the additional info on this. The site I originally read it on (The Digital Bits) hasn't mentioned that Universal pulled the press release. Here's hoping Universal decide to give us a better package than the one they've dangled briefly in front of us. Or at least a little more...

Actually Nicholas, the stylized logos are from the teaser posters to each film.

'Batman' Boxed Set, March 10, Burton & Schumacher

oh, and the australian releases (well, i assume all four, based on the batman 89 BD i have on my shelf) are the US discs. no UK (or Aus) ratings logos, just the US PG-13 and copyright text running around the edge of the disc

Blu-ray Review HTF BLU-RAY REVIEW: Disaster Movie

Well, between the conflict in Gaza (no, I am not making any statements with any political affiliations on that conflict - not the place) and the release of Disaster Movie on Blu-Ray, all I'm going to say is that 2009 is starting off as a terrible year.

'Batman' Boxed Set, March 10, Burton & Schumacher

okay, so the Australian/UK releases are BD-50 ports of the SD 2 disc sets. the US release is a 5 disc set. apparently the four film discs are exactly the same globally, with the 5th disc being a digital copy of the 89 original. I happily just purchased the original on BD two days ago, and...

The Dark Knight changing Aspect Ratio feels like a Joke

Hardly. The Blu-ray Disc spec is for a 1920x1080 window. If you want to create a home theatre that displays in a manner not designed for the technical specifications of the format, you cannot really complain. The Blu-ray is advertised as being in variable aspect ratios, as per the director's...

Any HTF'ers at the DARK KNIGHT BD Live Event tonight?

Yeah, the redundant questions were annoying, although every now and then, Nolan's reply gave some new insight thankfully. Which was your question? I look forward to the transcript.

Any HTF'ers at the DARK KNIGHT BD Live Event tonight?

I didn't have any problems like that. No idea why. I only woke up 5 minutes before the screening, and then had to get up and grab the disc off the shelf, load it up, etc. T'was a close call. When I got in, there was two people - c_nolan and moderator!

I'm in Perth, Western Australia. I think I lied about my zip code and address when I signed up.

Any HTF'ers at the DARK KNIGHT BD Live Event tonight?

he answered that. said he prefers to be involved with the films he works on, but has done insomnia (which was a remake). kinda dodged the answer a bit.

Any HTF'ers at the DARK KNIGHT BD Live Event tonight?

asked repeatedly, and i guess he was feeling jokey. once you give up the idea of the whole thing being any serious attempt to discuss the filmmaking process not covered elsewhere, it's quite a fun chat. there's some great little nuggets of info coming through, and some pretty hilarious moments.
