Press Release SPHE Press Release: Columbia Classics Ultra 4K HD Collection Volume 2

I do not give a s**t about box sets and wingdings. I might buy this Volume 2 set just to get OLIVER!, which has always looked crappy on video, and the bonus disc of shorts, and just sell off the five remaining titles to those who also don't wish to buy the whole kaboodle.

While we wait for A few words about...™ In the Heights -- in 4k UHD Blu-ray

Is this Spielberg trying to dip his toes into every identifiable genre? If so...time for a western!

    I Have A New Book...

Recently I self-published my first full-length novel, entitled Elspeth, following a long-ish short story called Crossing the Meadow last year. The title subject is a ten-year-old girl who has a prosthetic leg and is trying to find her way toward more healthy self-esteem and an understanding of...

    A few words about…™ The Railway Children (1970) – in Blu-ray

I'd be interested in the limited edition of WALKABOUT 4K, except that the UK exchange rate is pretty high and the shipping costs are abnormally inflated.

    Your thoughts on Kino-Lorber Blu-rays

Not a Universal deal question, but, as you are doing beautifully with foreign-language releases where almost no one else is, a leftover MGM one: any chance you have access to some of the long-unreleased Francois Truffaut classics -- SMALL CHANGE and THE WILD CHILD in particular?

UHD Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ Indiana Jones - 4-movie collection -- in 4k UHD Blu-ray

Frankly, I like the color more on the DVD than even that of the 4K, if these caps are reasonably accurate.

UHD Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ Indiana Jones - 4-movie collection -- in 4k UHD Blu-ray

Whoops. I meant to say Clear Channel, a radio monoply (or close to being one). Thanks for the correction. I had my late brother in the back of my mind, as I always do, and he designed sets for the Showboat Dinner Theater in Clearwater, Florida.

UHD Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ Indiana Jones - 4-movie collection -- in 4k UHD Blu-ray

Nah. At least, I hope not, because that would be the end of the Paramount Presents series which is shaping up very nicely these days. Disney seems to be heading toward quasi-monopoly territory. They're like the Clearwater of studios. Incidentally, I was not happy with the most recent Blu-ray...

    Mommie Dearest (1981) - Paramount Presents - June 1, 2021

Yet, Philip, we are also getting or have already gotten A PLACE IN THE SUN, THE COURT JESTER, LAST TRAIN FROM GUN HILL, ROMAN HOLIDAY, etc. at the current pace of roughly three per month. There are also many Criterion titles I wouldn't want to own, but Paramount's track record is improving...

Check the wording of your earlier post. "they'll probably put up three pre-orders a week from this coming Tuesday [which is the 8th], like around the 15th and then three more the week after that. 3+3+3 = 9. No big deal. But David Norman set this straight by listing all 9 titles, and you were...

Don't Look Now Paramount Blu-ray release

Unless they are upgrading these movies to 4K, what is the point, considering the Criterion editions are still available? Or are they going to pull Criterion's licenses for them?

Press Release Shout Factory Press Release: Coraline (2009) (Blu-ray)

Yeah, so now Shout! is releasing a non-3D, 1080p of CORALINE. Same with BOXTROLLS. Sorry, I don't get it. Yes, the 3D editions are still available from overseas. Glad I kept my originals.

I completely agree. I hold this film second only to THE COURT JESTER as Danny Kaye's best comedy/musical. The DVD I own is okay, but if whoever currently owns this could get it out as a decent Blu-ray, that would be great.

Pre-Order The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy (4k UHD Steelbook) Available for Preorder

I totally agree that some really fine sections of the book were actually left out, even from the 9-hours of extended cuts. I was so looking forward to the section of the chapter "Flies and Spiders" in which Bilbo has left the Mirkwood path and is lost in the woods, where he sees a campfire...

What are the chances of The Wild Bunch on 4K disc?

Yeah, but to me, the flesh tones do look brownish. Just a different pair of eyes, I guess.

What are the chances of The Wild Bunch on 4K disc?

I am always bothered by the crappy flesh tones on the Blu...it reminds me of colorization.

Why I Own So Many Movies.

One problem with trying to cut back on Blu-rays on the shelves is: they're worth almost nothing on the secondary market. Anything we don't think we'll rewatch will meet with the same reaction when listed on eBay. You might get $2.99 for most of the overstocked titles. Maybe. And if you offer...
