  1. Detour (1945)

I love both and think you can't go wrong with either one, but if you need a choice, go with RUNNING WILD. The manic energy of the whole thing is a beauty to behold.

I completely agree. The W.C. Field discs are excellent films, with excellent PQ. I pre-ordered them the minute they were announced.

Like the others have said, my friend, it's on its way. With the number of orders they received and the global situation right now, all mail is slower than usual. I'm in Canada and place my order on May 11th and received it earlier today. I have a second order out there, placed May 15th and...

    Blu-ray Review Watchmen (2019) Blu-ray Review

As a huge fan of the original comic book mini-series (because that's what it is, not a graphic novel, it was repackaged that way later) and the Snyder film, I was completely against this at first. Then it came out, received glowing reviews, so I downgraded to hesitant. Finally watched it about...

Just to clarify, the title of the film is SIX WEEKS, but I could not agree more that I would love to see this come to Blu-Ray. I still remember seeing it in the theatre as an 11-year old and loving it. A definite tear-jerker!

Universal's Inner Sanctum Mysteries coming from Mill Creek

To be fair, most, if not all of the films on these sets have commentaries, which I love, so for me that's two viewings per film. So, now it's only $8.75 a film, a sure bargain! (Plus, who pays $70 for these sets? I've paid between $48-$55 per set, all on Amazon Canada)
  9. Detour (1945)

Universal's Inner Sanctum Mysteries coming from Mill Creek

I agree, but according to the sell-sheet on their website, this release will include newly created special features. Inner Sanctum Mysteries - Franchise Collection

Universal's Inner Sanctum Mysteries coming from Mill Creek

I'm interested in getting this set, but it's the extras that will make the final decision. Anyone have any idea when Millcreek is going to release the specs on the extras?

Stephen King goes to the movies...

I have that DVD set and remember liking it, but don't remember much about it right now. Can't believe it's been 14 years already! Sounds like a good reason for a rewatch, thanks for bringing it up!

Definitely getting these three and would love to see a Blu of MotOE join them on my shelf.

Thank you, sir. Completely understandable, just sad it makes the sales moot for us now, as shipping these days makes them more expensive than buying them on Amazon.ca, which I shall continue to do to support all these great releases.

Kino Lorber Insider (Read Guidelines Post #3)

Mr. Insider, I've been meaning to ask you about the free shipping. Up to about a year ago, Kino offered free shipping to Canada on orders over $100, and then suddenly stopped offering that service. Having the free shipping really made the sales worth it to us, it helped us offset the...

Well, working from home, with really not much to do, coupled with reading this thread, has lead me to just place my final, final TT order. I went with SUDDENLY, LAST SUMMER and THE SNAKE PIT, both blind buys. The former for the lovely Elizabeth Taylor, the latter with the equally stunning...

That's great to hear as I am one of those few who has been willing to bite. I made 10 RILLINGTON PLACE a part of my final order to TT a few days ago, a complete blind buy based on the synopsis, the cast and the fact it was based on a true story. Glad to find out it was a good move and looking...

Very interested, forgive my ignorance, but I don't see English subtitles as an option for these releases.

And another Cooper/Schoedsack production that deserves a Blu-Ray release is GRASS (1925), aka Grass: A Nation's Battle for Life, a documentary about of the Bakhtiari tribe of Southern Persia. This was also released on DVD by Milestone Films.

    Official 2020 Oscar Nominations Thread

Finally saw PARASITE last week. Wow, what a film. Definitely deserved the BP nomination. Not sure about the win, as I haven't had a chance to see all the nominees yet. But it's definitely a contender.

    Joker (2019 Movie)

I agree with both of you, gentlemen. I am a huge Batman fan and was definitely intrigued by this film, when I first heard about it. Being a huge film fan, as well, I was even more excited to see it, the more I heard about its themes and tone. Saw it in the theatre and loved it. Have seen it...

I've read and enjoyed the novel, but not yet seen the film. Do you recommend a version to watch first?
