    Blu-ray Review A Few Words About A few words about...™ - Directed by David Lean - Volume 1 -- in Blu-ray

A pity. From the UK, there’s a 2008 iTV Blu of Great Expectations, and a 2014 Studio Canal of Hobson’s. There’s also an iTunes HD of Oliver Twist. I don’t recall any of them to be spectacular transfers, but I do recall them being significantly better than the ancient Criterion DVDs.

Thanks. I wasn’t even aware there was a 4K available. As the HD is already in my library, that version is the only one I see, even if I search.

That we can legitimately argue the merits of OG v. remake when discussing these films is a testament to the quality of all four. It’s difficult enough to create great original work, but doing a worthwhile remake of an already classic film is a heavy lift. Both of these remakes succeed, and it...

General Discussion Verified HD Digitals same as Warner Archive Blu-rays (2012-2025)

I just picked up the iTunes Days of Wine and Roses at $5. Did a fair spot check and IMHO it's the WA transfer. Looks exactly the same as my disc to me.

    Warner Archive Announcements Thread

Coincidentally during COVID and just before David Zazlav. Warner Archive is neither a business nor a corporation. It is a tiny division of what is now a huge conglomerate. This division long had excellent customer service, but since David Zaslav, it can no longer even purchase paper clips...
