    Portability of HT setup

Perhaps colour'd tape around each of the positive leads? On your home theater receiver, place each respective colour on the positive connectors for each channel. Ive never labeled or colour'd any cables before.

    Basic Surround Sound Speaker Question

I never found that to be true. Granted I prefer a stereo (2.1) setup over surround. Your best bet is to play around with the placement of those speakers. Try placing the rear ones in multiple ways. Watch a few movies, you'll settle on a particular setup. As far as all the speakers being...

Heavy Static in Subwoofer please help

I don't have experience with that issue, and you should wait for someone more experienced to answer, HOWEVER, it sounds like some sort of shorting could be happening on the amp board. If you are the experimental type you could open it up and void whatever warranties you have. Then you could...

    Portability of HT setup

Consider some high quality Banana plugs for your wires. That way its a little more "plug n play". You could also lay your wires around instead of trying to hide them, and just get or make some wire covers for your floor to prevent tripping and what not. Wireless isnt ideal. Nothing says "HOLY...

Subwoofer - What Fraction of Speaker Budget?

It depends on your priorities of sound i guess. I've got a pair of PolkAudio RTi8 speakers as my mains. I don't do surround. The subwoofer ive been using for a while now was about 300 bucks (its worth about 100 because its a piece of crap (Athena AS-P4100)). I'm currently in the process...

Constructing a new home subwoofer enclosure

Thank you Robert, I've pretty much come up with a design that i like. A couple more things: - The plate amplifier's backside will be sticking into the box as much as 10" x 10" x 4.5". I've adjusted the size of the box to make up for the inner volume lost due to braces & amplifier. The...

Constructing a new home subwoofer enclosure

Thx Robert, Those box designs REALLY help. With those sizes, i find it quite hard to screw up the dimensions, its great! Ive got some questions about ports though. What if i wanted to go with a rectangular port near the bottom of the box?
