I sent my 1st notice around Sept 21, then Jan 13, Mar 4, and last time was Apr 6 - I couldn't have fallen thru the cracks all the time - aren't sales of popular discs usually about 3000 - for such a big organization there should have been some response. I don't think I will make anymore...
I kind of gave up expecting my replacement discs after sending 4 emails and still nothing - would anyone have an email to someone in a more supervisory position who might look into this situation ?
I have a memory of a film scene but can't figure out the movie - maybe someone here would know (not that it is necessarily a decent film it just frustrates me that I can't remember it). It was a film likely from the 1960's and I remember scuba divers - good vs bad, one of the good possibly a...
I know some foreign region blu ray releases that state they are region B will play in all regions (like some from Indicator) so I was wondering if anyone has knowledge if that is the case for Network's blu ray release of The Story of Gilbert and Sullivan that just came out last month ?
For a movie like this even if there is no improvement in the appearance in 4K, do they make a new/better master for the 4K so that even the new 1080 would look better than the previous version, or do they just take the previous master and output it in 4k ?
Probably not always true, but I assume that when an older film is being formatted to 4K, it would be an improvement from the previous release because they would prepare a new/better master first ?
Is it possible last to notify, first to receive replacements as opposed to 1st sent, 1st to receive (I sent my notice Sept 21 and haven't received anything yet) - I resent it again last week.
I don't know if someone with knowledge of the restoration can answer this (or maybe restoration expert Robert Harris) : it is stated above that a Technicolor dye transfer was used as reference but there are some scenes on the blu ray that look different from when it was shown in the theaters in...
I ordered several Bond 4k films and all work but with From Russia with Love , I get the sound but a snowy video image (basically no picture). I uninstalled and reinstalled the Prime app but it didn't help - has anyone else come across this and were you able to fix it and how did you do it ?
Would anyone know where I can purchase 25mm thick 2 disc 4K cases in the U.S. - I want to combine the 4K and blu ray discs for Flash Gordon in one case ?
Nowadays in movies everyone including the doorman gets a credit at the end of a movie but I am curious if anyone would know who did the portrait sketches done by character Francois Picard in the Hitchcock film Topaz ?
So there might be a possibility to see these films the way they were originally presented if in the future there is a strong demand (it wasn't lost in the preservation/restoration phase, just in the current presentations) ?
The discussion concerning the blu ray release of the Definitive Laurel and Hardy films made me wonder about the state of affairs with regard to how some films will be preserved/viewed in the future. For Mary Poppins, some scenes that were originally a daylight scene have become a scene in early...
Now that I'm more confused - does this mean there will be no dual format release - there isn't an option for both a 4k and 1080 combo of the movies as is usually done for 4k releases ?
